Q: Is laser hair removal permanent?

A: Laser hair removal is best described as long-term hair reduction rather than completely permanent hair removal. The treatment works by targeting and damaging the hair follicles during their active growth phase, which significantly reduces the amount of hair that grows back over time.

However, it’s important to understand that not all hair follicles are destroyed in a single treatment cycle. Some follicles may become dormant and later reactivate due to factors like hormonal changes, age, pregnancy, or genetics. This means that while many clients experience long-lasting smoothness and a dramatic reduction in hair growth, some regrowth can still occur over time.

The good news is that any regrowth is typically much finer, lighter, and slower than before treatment. That’s why occasional maintenance sessions—often just once or twice a year—are recommended to keep results looking their best.

In short, laser hair removal can greatly reduce hair growth for years, but it is not always 100% permanent for everyone.
