Hairdressing Instructor Effective immediately, all clients will be required to give 24 hours notice when canceling or changing an appointment time.
Notice of Cancellation Policy;
Due to high client demand, and to ensure appointment availability for all clients, I will be implementing a 24 hour cancellation policy. Any appointments canceled or changed after the 24 hour period will be required to pay 50% of the original cost of their scheduled services. I do understand that sometimes things come up beyond our control, and there is always exceptions to the rule, but I ask that you be considerate of my schedule and the other clients that might be waiting for appointments. ➡️ Experienced stylists are allowed to go back to the foundations.
Not because we’ve forgotten how to cut hair—but because years of speed, habits and trends can pull us away from understanding exactly why a shape works.
A conversation with former salon coworkers made me realize how many working stylists would welcome a space to slow down, revisit the fundamentals and ask questions without being treated like beginners.
So I’m testing interest in a small, two-day Haircutting Reset in Chilliwack.

✂️ Two hands-on days, 10 AM–5 PM
✂️ Professional mannequin included
✂️ Maximum eight stylists

This would be a working session—not a look-and-learn. We’ll reconnect the procedures to the forms so you can make more intentional decisions behind the chair.

A finished style can look great and still tell me very little about how you got there.
When I’m assessing a hair student, I’m looking at the whole process: sectioning, control, balance, technique, consistency, problem-solving…and whether you could repeat the result again tomorrow.
The goal isn’t just “make it look good.”
The goal is to understand why it worked.

The “fussy” stuff we teach in hair school has a purpose. ✂️
Clean sectioning. Consistent patterns. Knowing your guide. Understanding what comes next.
At first, those details can feel painfully deliberate. But eventually they become automatic — and that’s where confidence, consistency and efficiency start to show up.
The fundamentals aren’t slowing you down. They’re building the stylist you’re becoming.

Summer break kickoff looked less like cocktails by the pool and more like deep cleaning my entire life.
Bedroom reset. Bathroom scrub. Closet chaos. Laundry. Organizing. One very committed supervisor.
And eventually… I clocked out.
Please tell me I’m not the only person who starts vacation by cleaning everything they ignored during the school year. 😅

There is a conversation circulating about hair students performing services while the school receives the service revenue.
I understand why that can feel unfair when nobody clearly explains how practical education works. But hair school is not only the technical moment when the student holds the shears or colour brush.
Students are also learning consultation, reception, retail, sanitation, scheduling, client care, teamwork, inventory, timing and salon operations. Those are not unrelated chores. They are part of becoming employable in this industry.
That does not mean every school practice is automatically fair. Training should be relevant, properly supervised, rotated appropriately and designed to benefit the learner.
But learning how the entire salon functions is not exploitation simply because every task is not glamorous.

Unfortunately, teaching hair has become my entire personality.
It’s not “just a bob.”
It’s a Solid Form.
0° elevation.
Natural fall.
Weight at the perimeter.
In the industry?
We call it a blunt cut. A classic bob. A Dutch boy.
Same haircut.
Different language.
Respect gravity. Respect the line.
Perfecting the shampoo service is one of the biggest client-retention tools in the salon.
It’s often overlooked — so we teach it with intention, skill, and high standards.
A little post fantasy show fun.... we are pretty cool....🤣🤣 ( I know its got some inappropriate language but it was fun 🤫🫣)
