Cochrane Lions Rodeo Royalty

Today I had the opportunity to attend the Ladies of Canadian Professional Rodeo Fashion Show up in Edmonton!

I had the best time getting to watch the Miss Rodeo Canada Contestants showcase their personal outfits as they take on the last portion of the competition!

I am beyond excited to see who is crowned the 2027 Mrs. Rodeo Canada later tonight!

Today, we honour the children who never returned home, the survivors, and those who continue to carry and share the stories.

Today is a reminder to listen, reflect and learn.

As a community, we will continue the work of reconciliation.

Every Child Matters🧡

What a special weekend at the FCA Finals in Olds, Alberta❤️

I had the best time being part of the weekend through grand entries, sponsor flags, buckle presentations, and chase out. It was so incredible to watch these talented cowboys and cowgirls showcase all the hard work they’ve put in throughout the season.

One of the highlights was watching the Cochrane Lions Rodeo Committee receive the Committee of the Year Award. I’ve seen firsthand how much heart and hard work goes into everything they do, and I’m so proud to stand beside and represent such an incredible organization.

And to make the weekend even more special, it was Katie’s first time in the rodeo arena! She absolutely crushed it, and I couldn’t be more proud of my girl.
So grateful for the people, horses, and memories that made this rodeo season so special.

What a way to wrap it up! Can’t wait to see what next year brings. ✨

Today is the Day of the Cowgirl.

A chance to acknowledge the strength and resilience of women in the Western lifestyle. From the cowgirls we see in the dirt at rodeos, to those working tirelessly on ranches, the passion, hardwork, and courage of these women is truly admirable.

I am so honored to get to spend this next year surrounded by some of the most courageous Cowgirls, and continue to learn and grow from each of them.

Being a cowgirl is about more than just a lifestyle. It's a work ethic, a set of values, and a commitment to carrying on traditions while inspiring the generations to come.

Here’s to the Cowgirls - of the past, the present, and the future!

Hi there! I’m Amy Carter, your 2027 Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen! 💜

I’m 17 years old and a recent graduate of St. Timothy High School. I’m now attending Mount Royal University, pursuing my Bachelor of Nursing with the goal of becoming a Pediatric Oncology Nurse.

I’ve called Cochrane home since I was one, and becoming the Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen is truly a dream come true. I’ve always loved horses, rodeo and the western way of life, and I can’t wait to represent the community I’m so proud to call home!

A few fun facts about me:
🐴 I have two rescue horses, Dolly and Katie!
🐾 I’m a huge animal lover — my house is home to a dog, cats, a snake, a bearded dragon, bunnies, guinea pigs and a budgie!
🏀 I love sports and played basketball, badminton, cross country and track & field in high school.
✈️ I love travelling and exploring new places.
🏕️ When I’m not riding, you’ll find me hiking, camping or paddleboarding!

I’m so excited for the year ahead and all the people, places and experiences that come with it. I can’t wait to meet you along the way!
