Orange Shirt Day is a time to honour the Indigenous children who experienced the loss of culture, identity, freedom, and belonging through the residential school system.

Here in our own region, the former St. Eugene Mission Residential School is part of that history, and its impact continues to be felt within families and communities today.

It is a reminder of the meaning behind **Every Child Matters**, and of the importance of listening, learning, remembering, and continuing the work of truth and reconciliation.
