YEG Dream Tarts

Growing pains are a GOOD problem to have… but they’re still painful 😭

The orders are growing. The weekends are getting crazier. We’re running out of space, my team is working HARD, and suddenly the systems that worked before… don’t work anymore.
The good? We’re growing. ♥️
The bad? Growth exposes every single weakness…
The lesson? You can’t keep running a bigger business the same way you ran a smaller one.

Another very real chapter of building Dream Tarts.
Investing in more equipment…

Episode 3 — The first one ever. 🤍

Before Dream Tarts was a business, a store, a team, or even an idea… there was this.

In November 2018, I wanted to make something special for my friends’ wedding because I couldn’t afford the gift I wanted to give them.

So I made them something instead.

I had no baking experience. I had no idea this would become anything. I definitely didn’t know that years later I would be making thousands of tarts. 😂

It was simply a gift.

And looking back now, it’s crazy to think that sometimes the smallest thing you do can become the beginning of something so much bigger.

The lesson: You don’t have to know where something will take you before you start. Just start. 🤍

The Good, The Bad & The Lesson — Episode 3

EPISODE 2 — The Good, The Bad & The Lesson

One of the hardest things in business is changing something that already works.

When I decided to introduce our $3 Tiny Tarts, I was SCARED…

I questioned the decision. I worried about the numbers. I worried I was hurting us..

Two months later, I see it completely differently.
Sometimes you can analyze a decision forever and still not know if it will work.
You have to try it.
And if it fails? Change it again.
My team probably knows better than anyone how many things I’ve changed over the years. 😂 But that willingness to keep trying is a huge part of how Dream Tarts got here.

Episode 2 lesson: Stop being scared to try.

You might be wrong.
But you might also make one of your best decisions. 🤍

I don’t think I’ve ever really shared how Dream Tarts started…
Honestly, it started because I failed an exam 😂
I had applied to GardaWorld and when I didn’t pass, I felt completely lost. I had no baking experience, I didn’t even like baking, but I knew I needed to do something.
So a few weeks later, I started trying recipes in my kitchen. I printed some shapes, made my first tart…and somehow, that little experiment became YEG Dream Tarts.
It’s crazy how something that felt like such a bad moment ended up changing the direction of my whole life.
This is Chapter 1, Episode 1 of my new daily series, **The Good, The Bad & The Lesson**, where I’ll be sharing the real stories behind building Dream Tarts—the wins, the mistakes, the hard moments and everything I’ve learned along the way 🤎
