9.5 years in, life has changed a lot. The world has changed a lot.
I’ve been reflecting on everything we’ve accomplished, everything we’ve learned, and what I’ve created with Filament.
And I’ve realized something:
We are not just a salon.
We are a space where you can come as yourself and leave feeling like a lighter version of yourself.
A place where you don’t have to fit into a certain mould.
Where we work with your hair, your lifestyle, your reality and your goals—not against them.
We believe your hair should work with your life, not become another thing you have to manage.
We believe education starts behind the chair.
It starts with understanding your hair, listening to what you actually need, and teaching you how to recreate and care for it in your everyday life.
We believe in healthy hair over chasing trends.
We believe in education over ego.
We believe in honest recommendations over selling for the sake of selling.
We believe in growth—for our guests, our team and ourselves.
We believe in kindness, curiosity, accountability and respect.
And we believe that when you take care of people, people take care of each other.
These beliefs are the foundation of Filament.
And as we step into our next chapter, we’re becoming even more intentional about putting them into everything we do—from the way we educate, to the way we care for our guests, to the way we grow our team.
This isn’t about becoming something different.
It’s about becoming more clearly who we’ve always wanted to be.

We work very hard to teach every single client about the best way to shampoo and condition your hair.

*let’s start by saying your shampoo choices need to be directed your scalp concerns. Your conditioner needs to be selected for the needs of your kids to ends.

1. Start with soaking wet hair
2. then emulsify shampoo in your hands first.
3.Then get it on your scalp and emulsify more!
4. Rinse and repeat but start in a different area- the back is better for this one. I’m not kidding you have to rinse and repeat.
5. If it has been more than 3-4 days rinse and repeat again for all over.
6. Rinse and condition. Leave conditioner on until your hair has softened. This is so important!
