With September just around the corner, I wanted to send out a reminder about a few upcoming changes at Kristen Scott Makeup. New service pricing and updated studio hours will take effect September 1st, 2026.

First and foremost, I want to say a huge thank you. 🤍 I am so incredibly grateful for the continued support you have shown me and my business. Whether you've been coming to me for years or have only recently become a client, every appointment, referral, recommendation and kind word has allowed me to continue building a career doing something I genuinely love. I truly don't take that for granted.

Any September appointment booked before September 1st will remain locked in at my CURRENT pricing.

My booking calendar is currently open for September appointments only, so if you know you'll be due for a lash fill, full set, brow appointment, makeup appointment or another service next month, I highly recommend getting your appointment in the calendar before the end of August.

As long as your September appointment is booked by August 31st, your current rate will be honoured. Beginning September 1st, all newly booked appointments will reflect the updated pricing below.

My regular studio hours will also be adjusting slightly beginning in September:

Monday: 9:30am–4:30pm & 8:00pm–10:00pm
Tuesday: 9:30am–4:30pm
Wednesday: 9:30am–4:30pm
Thursday: 9:30am–4:30pm & 6:00pm–9:00pm
Friday: 9:30am–4:30pm

Evening appointments will continue to be available on Monday and Thursday evenings. These spots are limited and tend to fill quickly, so I highly recommend booking ahead if evenings work best for your schedule. And for those who prefer weekend appointments — Sunday appointments will reopen in November! 🤍

Just a reminder that Afterpay is available as a payment option for all of my services.

Afterpay allows you to book your service now and spread the cost out over smaller payments, rather than paying the entire balance at once. For eligible purchases, Afterpay's Pay in 4 option divides the total into 4 interest-free instalments over 6 weeks.

If you would prefer to pay for your appointment using Afterpay, please let me know and request an Afterpay invoice. I will send the invoice directly to you through Square, where you can select Afterpay and follow the prompts to complete your payment.

It has been brought to my attention that someone directly related to me has been publicly spreading bigotry and hatred toward the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

I’ve now had multiple people reach out to me through my business page to make me aware of the things this family member has been saying, and quite frankly, I am humiliated.

First and foremost, I want to make something loud and clear: I do not share these beliefs. They do not represent me, my business, my morals, or my values in any way.

If you know me personally or have followed me for any amount of time, you probably already know this. I have always been outspoken about standing up for people, advocating for minority and marginalized communities, and creating a space where everyone feels welcome. I am deeply against racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, xenophobia, antisemitism and bigotry in all of its forms.

And I am incredibly sorry that members of these communities have to experience such relentless hatred, and particularly sorry and embarrassed that some of it is coming from someone I am directly related to.

I believe very strongly that silence allows hatred to become normalized. A lot of people choose to stay quiet because speaking up is uncomfortable. That will never be me.

I have seen what this kind of rhetoric can do to people. When entire groups of human beings, trans people, immigrants, disabled people, Jewish people, Black people, Indigenous people, or anyone else, are reduced to stereotypes and portrayed as something society should fear, it has real consequences. These are human beings. They are individuals. Reducing millions of people to a hateful stereotype isn’t an opinion worth defending. It’s bigotry and it is ugly behavior.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have dealt with this particular family member behaving this way. There have been multiple conversations over the years where I have made my feelings abundantly clear and asked them to stop. I have tried distancing myself from it as much as possible. But there comes a point where you cannot reason someone out of an echo chamber they are committed to staying in.

What makes this especially difficult is that I cannot control what another adult chooses to say online, yet because I am related to this person, their behaviour is now reaching me through a business that I have spent 15 years building.

So I want there to be absolutely no ambiguity about where I stand: Their words are not my words. Their beliefs are not my beliefs. Their hatred is not welcome here.

This post isn’t meant to make anyone feel sorry for me. I am simply acknowledging what has happened because people have now brought it directly to my attention, and I refuse to hide behind silence. I am deeply sorry to anyone who has been hurt, angered or made to feel unsafe by the things that have been said.

And maybe there is one positive thing that can come from this: sometimes people need to realize that the things they say online don’t exist in a vacuum. Their words have real consequences. Perpetuating hatred toward marginalized people isn’t edgy, brave or some kind of “flex.” It’s embarrassing, it’s ignorant, and it hurts real people.

I’ve been called “woke” before as though that’s supposed to insult me. If being “woke” means believing that people deserve dignity, equality, safety and respect regardless of their race, gender identity, sexuality, disability, religion or where they were born, I’ll happily wear the title. I will never apologize for caring about other human beings.

I have always wanted my business to be a safe and welcoming space for everyone, and that will not change. I will continue speaking up when I see hatred, I will continue trying to break generational cycles, and most importantly, I will raise my own children to understand that another person’s differences are never a reason to treat them as less human.

The world is already hard enough. We don’t need to make it harder for one another. The hatred is exhausting. We can do better.

Story time -
I’ll be honest, there was a point earlier this year that I was really questioning a career change, moving away from makeup. I questioned if my morals and values aligned with the beauty industry anymore. Not because I don’t love it, but because I wasn’t sure I still belonged.

I’ve always struggled with the perception that beauty is about perfection, comparison, or fitting in. Those things have never been what drew me to this career, it’s the total opposite. What drew me here 15 years ago was the art, but more importantly, the human connection. I fell in love with creating in all its forms, but even more than the art, I fell in love with helping people find the confidence they’d forgotten they had.

I never want my clients to leave wondering how they could be prettier or “try harder”. I want them to leave feeling like the best version of themselves: powerful, confident, and seeing themselves a little differently. My goal has never been to make people fit into a beauty standard. It’s been to create a space where people feel safe, understood, and confident. I just want people to feel good about themselves. Not just externally, internally too.

For a while, I convinced myself that maybe I didn’t fit in anymore. That maybe I cared too much about genuine connection and not enough about keeping up with trends, growing an online presence, or chasing what everyone else seemed to be chasing.

After months of overthinking, I had an epiphany. Maybe the reason I sometimes feel out of place is the reason it’s so important to stay.

If the beauty industry needs anything, it’s more people who care about making others feel seen instead of judged. More artists who value trust over comparison, connection over competition, and confidence over perfection. That’s the kind of artist I want to be.

So no, I won’t be going anywhere. I’ve reminded myself of why I started in the first place and what my passion has always been: connecting with people, reminding them of who they are, and helping them see themselves through a kinder lens.

Maybe I won’t change the whole industry. But I can change what it feels like to sit in my chair. And honestly, that’s enough for me.

As my business continues to grow, I’ve made the decision to update my service pricing. These adjustments reflect the increasing costs of products and supplies, ongoing education, and the years of experience and care that go into every appointment.

My new pricing will take effect on *September 1, 2026*

If you already have an appointment booked in my system before September 1st, your appointment will be honoured at the current pricing. 🤍

Please note:
• Any appointments booked on or after September 1, 2026 will be subject to the new pricing.
• If an existing appointment is cancelled, rescheduled, or rebooked for a later date, the updated pricing will apply.
