Connie - Hair Student

I was fortunate enough to have been accepted at Crowning Glory Hair Studio (Crowning Glory Hair Studio Plus Inc) for my OJT placement. Tracey told me she could only take me for four weeks, but I didn’t care, I was just excited to learn more about textured hair from somebody with years of experience in the industry.

From day one I was told I was too light and too gentle. Tracey would constantly tell me “get your hands in there”, “we don’t dip, we scoop”, and my favourite, “they want to feel you touching them”. She always encouraged me to be more assertive when working with clients. Taking these skills back to school, I found confidence in areas I didn’t think were strong, learned how to check my work, and had my regular clients saying they saw improvement. I can say 100% that is because Tracey boosted my self-assurance and taught my to trust more in myself and my skills.

I want to thank Tracey for giving her time to make my placement educational and enjoyable. To Keisha and Allie, thank you for taking the time you did to educate me any time I had a question. To the clients of Crowning Glory Hair Studio, thank you for trusting and having patience with me.
