Some projects are about creating something new, others are about preserving what's already there.

We were proud to be part of the restoration of the Tobermory Cenotaph, helping to ensure this important memorial continues to honour the men and women who served in the First World War, Second World War, and Korean War.

Originally erected in 1920 and overlooking Tobermory harbour, the cenotaph has been a place of remembrance for generations.

HGH’s restoration work helped protect it for years to come. Always an honour to play a small part in helping communities care for the places that matter most.

Great public spaces are all in the details!

At 160 Front Street West in downtown Toronto, our granite benches, curbing, and streetscape pavers were designed to be as durable as they are cool.

Working with Aldershot Landscape Contractor, we supplied Stanstead Grey and Cambrian Black granite with flamed, leathered, and waterjet finishes.

It's always exciting to revisit projects like this and see how our natural stone continues to shape spaces that people use every day.

Last month HGH’s general manager Neil travelled to India to visit some of our long-standing suppliers and see the latest developments in the granite industry firsthand.

India remains one of the world's largest granite exporters, and these visits help us maintain strong relationships while keeping up with new materials and production techniques.

Granite bollards do more than mark the edge of a space.

We've created pieces for projects ranging from public plazas and major developments to hotels, residential communities, and botanical gardens.

Bollards can serve a range of functions, helping to protect pedestrians, manage vehicle access, and guide movement through an environment.

But as these projects show, they can also become an integral part of the design itself.

Featured here are granite spheres at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, and installations around a water feature and within the rose garden at the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Different shapes. Different settings. The same result: granite working hard and looking good!

At HGH, we believe every piece of granite tells a story.

And in this case, granite helped tell the story of a nation.

We were proud to work alongside DTAH and Orin Contractors on Dr. Lillian McGregor Park in Toronto, a few years ago, supplying the granite boulders and the four coloured granites used to create the park's Indigenous Medicine Wheel.

From the carefully selected colours of the Medicine Wheel to the natural granite boulders woven throughout the landscape, we chose every stone with care.
