THEY say the quickest way to become who you want to be is to bite off more than you can chew and figure out how to chew it.

Which sounds great in theory 🙈🫠

But can we talk about what that actually feels like while you’re in it?

Because sometimes it feels like you’re absolutely crushing it, and other times it feels like you’re one minor inconvenience away from lying face down on the floor and questioning every decision you’ve ever made.

I think we romanticize growth a lot. We celebrate the finished product, the big decisions, the brave leaps, the resilience. But resilience doesn’t always feel like strength when you’re in the middle of it. Sometimes it feels like overwhelm, doubt, exhaustion, and wondering what the hell you’ve gotten yourself into.

And maybe that’s part of it. Growing pains can … well hurt

So if you’re in the messy middle of something right now, remember that you’re allowed to ask for help. You’re allowed to not have it all figured out. You’re allowed to find the process hard, even when you know it’s something you want.

You don’t have to look like you’re thriving every step of the way to be growing.

Sometimes you’re just taking the next bite, trying to figure out how to chew it.

Renovation - foyer edition !!

She is GLOWING 💙

We are LOVING the tiles and wallpaper! 💛✨

The ideas are stirring, the vision is coming together, and now we just have to actually do it all 🎨🔨

Reno update !! 🎨🔨

We’re officially in the stage of figuring out ALL the details… tile, wall colours, trim, doors, flooring… there are a lot of decisions happening over here!

We’ve also officially finalized our wallpaper !!

We originally had our hearts set on lots of colourful options but the more we played around with everything, the more we realized we didn’t want the space to feel overwhelming. So we landed on something much more calm and neutral 🤍

It’s a pretty stark difference from the wallpaper that was in the space before, but I think it’s going to blend so beautifully with everything else we’re bringing in!!

We’re really trying to create that feeling of calm, colourful, a little bit regal. A client recently said that Jackson felt regal, and honestly… we realized I think that’s exactly the feeling we’re going for. 👑

There’s still A LOT ahead of us, but slowly, slowly, it’s all starting to come together!!

Our messy middle is getting a little less messy every day!

Reno update tour 🔨🎨

We’ve ripped out all the old dirty carpets and wallpaper and now we have a pretty blank slate !! We’re at the stage of putting it all back together !!

The messy middle: prepping all the floors, choosing the tile for the front hallway, picking out colours + wallpaper and adding in some walls and also some pocket doors to allow for larger gatherings with conjoining rooms!

OUT with the old!! 👋🏼

12 rooms and hallways of very old stained carpet are officially OUT, and it already feels like a completely different space. These carpets were actually glued down with NO staple strips so this was actually a pretty quick removal which was so incredibly kind of the renovations gods 🤍🤍🤍

Between the carpet rolls and the satisfying wallpaper rips, this was definitely our favourite renovation day ✨

Now it’s time to prep the floors for something MUCH more beautiful!!

Soooo….. after posting our clinic tour video we did have so much love from you all for our funky yellow 70s wallpaper !! It honestly made me feel pretty guilty because… we had already ripped it all out. 🫣

It was obviously quite old, but it was also dirty, and unfortunately not really salvageably, but clearly it was deeply loved in its time. We did keep a few little pieces a # forever live on 🪩💛

Renovation ASMR, anyone? 😮‍💨

There is something so satisfying about peeling old wallpaper off a wall, especially when it comes off in those big, crispy pieces hehe

This wallpaper was dirty, old, and definitely ready to go, so we’ve been slowly stripping it back and seeing what we’re working with underneath.

Some of the walls cleaned up well with hours and hours of scrubbing ! We were able to wipe away the old glue and get them smooth again, so they are ready for some paint!!

Others haven’t been quite as lucky but we’ll bring them back to beautiful very soon! We have some cool ideas up our sleeves for these walls, and we can’t wait to keep going!
