Trauma doesn't always show up as a memory. Sometimes it shows up as tension you can't seem to release, anxiety that feels like it comes out of nowhere, or a body that never seems to fully relax.
In her latest blog, Registered Clinical Counsellor Jodi Bridges explores two common ways trauma can be held in the body, why these responses make sense, and how approaches like EMDR can help the nervous system process experiences that may still feel "stuck." The article also includes a simple grounding exercise you can try anytime you need to reconnect with the present.

As we celebrate the natural beauty and vibrant communities of British Columbia, let’s also take time to honour the unceded territories of the Indigenous Peoples who have cared for this land since time immemorial.
We live, play, and heal on these lands—and we are called to do so with respect, reciprocity, and a commitment to reconciliation.
May today be a celebration rooted in gratitude, reflection, and connection.
Happy BC Day
