A year ago today, I took one of the biggest leaps of my career.

Opening Element Hair Studio has stretched me in ways I never expected. There have been moments that felt exciting, moments that felt overwhelming, and plenty of moments that reminded me why I started this journey in the first place.

What has made it all worth it is the people.

To every client who has trusted me with your hair, recommended me to a friend, cheered me on, or simply chosen to support my small business… thank you!!! I don’t take any of it for granted.

I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come in one year, and I’m so excited to see what year two has in store.

When all you need is a little pop.

Sometimes just having some brightness around the face can make all the difference.

She just knew she loved creating. Years later, that love turned into a career behind the chair, a passion for learning, and eventually a space built for other artists to call home.

She brought me a photo of hair I had done before.

There really isn’t a bigger compliment than that.

Every head of hair is different, but the goal is always the same: creating a colour that’s customized for the person in my chair while staying true to the look they fell in love with.

The certificate at the end of a class is just the beginning.

Learning a new extension method is exciting, but that’s not where confidence comes from. Confidence comes from taking what you learned and doing it again. And again. Paying attention to the little details, making small adjustments, and finding ways to make your work even better every time.

Every set of extensions I do teaches me something new. I don’t think I’ll ever reach a point where I say, “Perfect, I’ve got nothing left to learn.” I honestly hope I never do.

I want the people who trust me with their hair to know that I’m always working on my craft, even when I’m not in a classroom. Because “good enough” has never been the goal.
