Genuine question tho: when did we decide same race MUA = shade match will be seamless?
I get the logic. You’ve been burned and you want someone who gets it.
But I’ve watched artists burn clients who looked just like them way too many times.
I’ve been that exact client too and when I say I’ve only loved my shade match twice in my entire life, you know my bar is high. Like it is for every client out there that’s been burned too.

My 30th shade match reel, how crazy is that! 🖤
Today I have a beautiful warm neutral olive complexion with a tan and my goal was a radiant, bright result.
To get there, I kept the centre panel (forehead, centre of face, chin, neck and chest) bright, then used bronzer to pull the warmth of her body into the face and unify everything.
What I find fascinating about this complexion: in shifting sunlight she reads cool, then yellow. That’s exactly why I read her as neutral-leaning warm with an olive filter and a tan = four layers to address altogether, plus a little surface redness I adjusted with a touch of pistachio corrector from
