Anyone else out there tired of practising alone?
I have two treatment rooms—one in Montague and one in Charlottetown—and between them, there is a lot of available space I would rather share with a great colleague than leave sitting empty.
I am open to several arrangements depending on what works best for both of us: a straightforward room rental, a percentage split, or an independent-contractor arrangement.
Both treatment rooms have flexible weekday availability, along with evening and weekend options. You could work from one location or both, part-time or full-time. I am also willing to adjust my current schedule for the right person, so the days and arrangement are open for discussion.
Both rooms are ready to work from, including electric lift treatment tables. If you have spent years hauling a portable table in and out of your vehicle—or working at someone else’s fixed height—you already understand the value of that.
You could walk in with your supplies and begin seeing clients without taking on a full lease, completing a build-out, searching for equipment, or carrying the expense of an entire clinic on your own.
Honestly, though, the rooms are the easy part.
What I am really hoping to find is a colleague—someone to build a professional relationship with, exchange appropriate referrals with, compare notes with, and confidently refer clients to when they need additional support.
This could be a good fit for an RMT, counsellor, acupuncturist, nutrition professional, esthetician, movement or rehabilitation practitioner, or another compatible health and wellness professional.
There is more work on this Island than any one practitioner can hold. If you have been considering working for yourself or having a professional space of your own—but do not want to take on an entire lease alone—let’s talk.
Send me a message or email me at [email protected] and tell me a little about your profession, which location interests you, and the type of schedule or arrangement you are looking for.

BREAKING NEWS
We finally discovered the most painful spinal condition…
🍪 Running out of cookies.
Here’s the thing.
A disc bulge can hurt.
A perfectly normal MRI can hurt.
A scary looking spine can have no pain at all.
And some people with a “terrible” MRI are out golfing every weekend.
Pain doesn’t come with an imaging report.
It comes from a nervous system deciding whether you need protection.
Treat the person.
Not the picture.
(But definitely eat the cookies before someone else does.)

Your MRI found a rotator cuff tear.
Great.
So did this study…in a whole bunch of people who had absolutely no shoulder pain.
Researchers reviewed 53 studies looking at asymptomatic shoulders and found rotator cuff abnormalities such as tears, both full and partial, calcifications and tendonopathy everywhere!
Some studies found abnormalities in nearly every shoulder they looked at.
And yet those people weren’t seeking treatment or complaining of pain.
In fact many didn’t even know the findings existed.
This is why we have to stop treating imaging reports like sentences.
Imaging can tell us what’s there.
It can’t tell us what’s hurting.
As therapists, our job isn’t to chase every wrinkle, tear, or degeneration that shows up on an MRI.
Our job is to find what actually reproduces the patient’s symptoms, changes their function, and responds to treatment.
The image is part of the story.
The patient is the story.
Respect tissue.
Don’t worship imaging.

Dear Minister Deagle,
Yesterday when I read that the PEI Government was going to develop a 5 Year Chronic Pain Strategy and was looking for public input, I felt relieved. That was shadowed by the timeline and process of which this consultation process was going to take place.
I am a health care provider that lives and works in your district that specializes in pain relief. I see chronic pain every day and hear Islander's stories about what they are living with and the struggles they face with accessing appropriate health care on a timely basis. Many do not have a family doctor and feel lost.
People living with chronic pain, their family/friends/caregivers and health care professionals deserve more than 6 days notice for engagement on a Provincial Chronic Pain Strategy. The very population you say you want to hear from is the one least able to show up on 6 days notice.
I ask you to add additional community consultations and community focus group sessions (or reschedule the current ones) to give residents 3-4 weeks notice to plan to attend.
I also ask that the online survey be live for submissions immediately.
This strategy should be BUILT with Islanders, not RUSHED past them.
Respectfully,
April Ennis, RMT
