This is what happens between appointments when the door’s closed and the playlist’s on. We spend more hours a week with each other than with almost anyone else, so at some point you either tolerate your coworkers or you actually like them.

We don’t charge a flat rate for colour. Every gram gets weighed, so you only pay for what your hair actually needed.
We don’t apply lightener to hair that can’t take it. If it’s not safe, we’ll tell you before it touches your head, not after.
We don’t carry products with harmful chemicals or additives. Every line on our shelves is chosen for what it leaves out.
We don’t promise your dream hair if we can’t deliver it. We’d rather give you an honest roadmap than a promise we can’t keep.

98% of the waste from this salon gets recycled through Green Circle Salons instead of sent to a landfill. The colour tubes, the foils, the hair itself.
Every product line we carry is chosen for ethically sourced ingredients and formulated without sulphates or parabens. The retail wall carries AG Hair Care and Alcove Hair too, both Canadian, one women-owned out of Montreal. None of this is new for us. We were doing it before it was a marketing angle.

When someone books colour, they’re rarely asking for a formula. They’re asking to feel like themselves again, or sometimes to feel like someone they haven’t met yet.
Appointments here start with you, and what’s going on in your life before anything to do with your hair. What you need to put down for a few hours. What you want to feel like when you stand up from the chair. The technical plan comes after that conversation, not before it.
That’s the difference between a service and identity work. One changes your appearance. The other pays attention to the person underneath it.
Every colour service here is priced by time and product, not a flat rate. Every gram gets weighed before it touches your hair, and the invoice shows exactly what was used.
Fine hair uses less. Thick or long hair uses more. Either way, you’re only paying for what your head of hair actually needed, thanks to Vish

Vaulted ceilings, windows facing the trees as Mt Benson peaks through, and a stylist who loves to make you feel your best.
We built this space in north Nanaimo so people could exhale the second they walk in, not just once they sit down. A haircut is the reason you booked. The space is part of why you stay.

Dez has already got some cuts and colours under her belt. This time, Quinn had some extra time after her client and asked Dez if she’d gloss her hair.
Except she didn’t spend the appointment teaching her every step of the way. She just got to sit back and be a client, something stylists don’t get to do very often.
Dezarae is getting closer to open books every week! But in the meantime follow Dezarae 🌞 to keep an eye out for model calls and intro rates.
