Much needed refresh for this big guy!

Hi all! I know I did a post when I first made my account introducing myself but I have so many new followers and clients I thought it'd be good to do it again. So, hi everyone, my name is Jordyn, I'm 21, and these are my two boys- Cowboy, my quarter horse gelding, I've had him since he and I were 12 and he's now 21 as well. Cowboy and I had many ups and downs during our time in the arena and show rings together, he and I went from trotting ground poles to showing in 3 foot hunter and jumper classes and always bringing home the top ribbons, and he's now happily retired in my field years later. He was my first horse and my heart horse, he'll be in the family forever, he helped me through high school and navigating life as a teenager and I'll forever be thankful I had him as an escape from life, he never failed to put a smile on my face and (normally lol) still does even in his wild retirement lifestyle, and I was lucky enough to get to bring him to college with me too. Cowboy is the one who started my equine massage passion after we won a massage coupon at a show. I was so intrigued watching him during his massage and feeling the difference in him after, it was incredible. Which is where my business gets its name, Cowboys papered name is Silver Lining.
Then on my right we have my warmblood, Kelso. I got Kelso after having a green project horse for the first time which knocked my confidence a lot. Kelso was the very last horse I tried on my horse shopping journey and I sat on him and immediately knew he was the one. For the first time in years I felt so confident, flatting, jumping, being on a horse in general, and he had the biggest personality ever and still does, he cracks me up daily. Kelso made me love the sport again, he took me from being scared to trot a crossrail to jumping 1m+ at home and showing 2'9 in the jumper classes locally and he took me to my first off island show! As much as Kelso is one of the funnest and best horses I've ever sat on he's also one of the trickiest. He may have all the buttons but he most definitely taught me exactly how I had to push them to make them work and for that I'm so thankful as he developed my skills by miles and I learned things and felt things I never thought I'd feel and it's all thanks to Kelso and my incredible riding coach. Kelso is still one of my main mounts, it's been a while since I've sat on him but I still get to see the goofball everyday and I'm hoping to get him started back up soon!
And then we have my girl, Shay. Shay's one of my aunties mares, she was born on her property and I'm lucky enough to get to enjoy this incredibly fun mare. She's the sassiest little thing but she's happy to do any job. She taught me to run barrels, poles, took me penning, I've even jumped her, we also just recently got to run sponsor flags for the Sundre Pro Rodeo, lots of trail rides and I'm sure much more to come!
And then we have me! I originally grew up on Vancouver Island, in a little town in a small valley. I started riding when I was about 11, I did a summer pony camp and I immediately caught the pony bug lol. The summer after that camp I started riding lessons every other week and helping out at the barn doing chores and teaching camps and after riding for a while I got to lease a sweet little lesson pony 3 days a week and shortly after that is when I got Cowboy. I've been so lucky in my years riding to have gotten to ride SO many horses while working at barns, it's made me a better horse person and rider working with so many different breeds, sizes, gaits, sensitivities, strengths and so much more within different horses. I moved out to Alberta in 2023 for college, which is where I made some of my best friendships and memories. I got my equine massage certificate in 2024 and have been massaging ever since. I then decided I wanted to expand a little further which is then when I went and got my barefoot trimming certificate in May 2025 in the Okanagan and I've been booking clients ever since!
I'm so thankful for all my clients and their horses, you guys are what make it possible for me to do what I love and I'm thankful each and everyone of you trusts me with your horses care whether that be the first trims on a baby, a regular trim on a senior, a massage on your performance horse, spending hours with a nervous horse or a trim before your upcoming rodeo, I love hearing from each and every one of you no matter the circumstance :) Thank you everyone!!
