As they stand here so perfectly, I’m reminded that great teams aren’t built overnight. What people see in the show ring is only a small part of the story. The real work happens in the quiet mornings, the countless miles, the consistency, the patience, and the trust built one day at a time.

The other day, a young girl came up to me, full of excitement and love for horses. Watching her reminded me of myself at that age and the passion that first drew me to these incredible animals. Looking back now, I realize horses have taught me far more than how to drive a hitch.

Recently, someone asked me, “How do you handle all the chaos you deal with?”

My answer was simple: horses… and my dog.

Horses have a way of teaching you things no classroom ever could. They remind you to stay calm when everything around you isn’t. They teach you that clear communication earns respect, not raised voices. They listen without judgment, and somehow they always know what you’re feeling—even the emotions you think you’ve hidden from everyone else.

Every mile behind these horses has taught them something, but the truth is, they’ve probably taught me even more.

Here’s to another morning, another lesson, and another chance to become a better team. ❤️🐴
