So... can I go to the gym after my PMU appointment?

Do I recommend smashing out a hot yoga class or a sweaty HIIT workout the next morning? Probably not!

When I give my clients aftercare advice, I’m never trying to make your life difficult. I’m simply trying to give your brows the very best chance of healing beautifully.

After your appointment, your skin is working hard to heal. The pigment is settling into the skin, tiny micro-scabs are forming and your body is beginning its natural healing process.

Excessive sweating can interfere with that process.

Think of it this way—for the first few days, I want your brows to live their best, boring little lives.

No sweating, no rubbing and no unnecessary drama!

Skipping a workout or two is a small price to pay when you’ve invested in your brows and want them to heal as beautifully as possible.

And if you’re anything like me and are already wondering when you can get back to the gym, don’t worry—it’s only temporary.

Have questions about PMU aftercare? Send me a message. Happy to help.

💉 Thinking about Botox or fillers and cosmetic tattooing? Timing matters!

This is one of the questions I get asked all the time, and thankfully, you don’t have to choose between the two.

Botox and fillers can temporarily alter the position and movement of the muscles in your face.

If I’m designing your brows, I want to see your face exactly as it will sit once everything has settled.

As a general rule, I recommend allowing enough time between your cosmetic injectables and your PMU appointment so that any swelling has gone down and the results have settled.

The same goes for planning Botox or filler appointments after your cosmetic tattooing treatment.

It’s not about avoiding these treatments altogether—it’s simply about timing them properly so we can achieve the best possible result.

Your face is unique, and every treatment you choose works together to create the final outcome.

A little bit of planning can go a long way!
If you’re unsure whether you should book your PMU appointment before or after Botox or fillers, send me a message. I’m always happy to help you plan your treatments.

Touch-up day!

These powder brows are fresh from their second appointment.

This client retained her pigment beautifully after her initial session, which meant we had a really great foundation to work from at her touch-up.

Today’s appointment was all about building on those healed results by adding a little more saturation where needed.

One of the things I love about cosmetic tattooing is that it’s a process.

The first appointment gives us valuable information about how your skin heals and retains pigment, allowing me to make any refinements at your touch-up to achieve the best possible result.

No two clients heal exactly the same, which is why I never take a one-size-fits-all approach.

Your skin tells me what it needs, and I tailor each appointment accordingly.

Now comes the hardest part... waiting to see how they heal!

I’m looking forward to her healed check-in in a few weeks.

If you’re curious about powder brows or have questions about the healing process, feel free to send me a message—I’m always happy to help.

Can I drive myself home after my brow appointment? 🚗

Yes—you can!

Cosmetic tattooing doesn’t affect your ability to drive, so most clients simply head home as
normal once their appointment is finished.

The only exception is if you’ve taken a sedative or anti-anxiety medication before your appointment.

If that’s the case, you’ll need to arrange for someone to drive you.

Have a question about your upcoming appointment? Leave it in the comments or send me a message—I’d love to answer it in a future FAQ

Proof that sometimes less really is more.

No lash extensions. No mascara. No eyelash curler.

Just beautifully lifted natural lashes.

Korean Lash lifts are one of those treatments that quietly do all the heavy lifting.

They open up the eyes, give the illusion of longer lashes and make your morning routine that little bit easier.

I'm a big fan of treatments that enhance your natural features rather than hiding them—and a lash lift does exactly that.

Low maintenance? Yes please.

Have a question about lash lifts? Pop me a message and I'll happily chat lashes!

Quick tip if you've got a brow appointment with me tomorrow... maybe give that extra coffee a miss.

I know... for some of you that's probably the worst news you'll hear all day. ☕️

But there is actually a reason I ask clients to avoid caffeine before their appointment.

Caffeine is a stimulant, so it gets your heart rate up and your blood flowing a bit more. That can mean a little more bleeding or lymph fluid during the treatment.

The problem is, if the pigment is competing with blood or lymph fluid, it can end up being pushed straight back out again instead of settling nicely into the skin where we want it.

That means I have to work harder to get good saturation, and it can affect how evenly the pigment heals afterwards.

Now, if you've had your morning cuppa, don't panic—I'm not going to send you home! We'll still be able to do your treatment. But if you can avoid caffeine for about 24 hours beforehand, you're giving your brows the best possible chance of healing beautifully.

And if you're ever unsure about anything before your appointment, just send me a message. There's no such thing as a silly question.

What am I actually thinking about while creating your brows?

It’s definitely not just... “Brows, brows, brows.” 😅

Most of my brain is focused on things like...

✔️ Am I maintaining a good stretch?
✔️ Is my saturation even?
✔️ Am I implanting the pigment at the correct depth?
✔️ Does this area need another pass?
✔️ Is it time for a fresh needle?
✔️ How’s her skin responding?
✔️ Are these brows balanced and symmetrical?
Then, life creeps in..
💭 I wonder what I’ll have for lunch.
💭 Did the kids actually eat lunch today?
💭 ...or was that just my stomach rumbling?
💭 I really should update my playlist.
💭 I hope my client’s comfortable.
💭 Have they nodded off?
And then it’s straight back to...
✔️ Checking every pixel.
✔️ Making tiny adjustments to create even saturation.
✔️ Building soft, natural-looking brows that will heal beautifully.

The random thoughts might come and go, but my attention never leaves your brows for long.
Every decision I make during your appointment is with your healed result in mind.

If you’ve got a question about what happens during a PMU appointment, or if you’re interested in other random thoughts I have pop it in the comments or send me a message. I’m always happy to help.
