Working closely with ownership and our accounting team, you'll play an integral role in managing the financial operations of multiple companies across manufacturing, warehousing, media, real estate, and related businesses. About the Role:

The Accountant will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions for the Brink Group of Companies, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient financial operations across multiple entities. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of businesses while collaborating with management and supporting strategic decision-making.

What You'll Do:

✅ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple companies
✅ Complete month-end and year-end accounting, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
✅ Prepare financial reporting, budgets, and variance analysis
✅ Manage cash flow, banking, and weekly payment processes
✅ Complete GST, PST, Employer Health Tax, WorkSafeBC, and other regulatory filings
✅ Coordinate with external accountants during year-end and tax preparation
✅ Assist with inventory valuation and cost accounting for our manufacturing operations
✅ Support payroll funding and accounting functions
✅ Work closely with management to provide financial insights and recommendations
✅ Assist with continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems

What We're Looking For:

✔️ CPA designation or equivalent accounting experience preferred
✔️ Strong knowledge of ASPE and Canadian accounting principles
✔️ Experience preparing financial statements and working through the full accounting cycle
✔️ Experience with multi-company accounting is considered an asset
✔️ Strong understanding of Canadian tax compliance, including GST, PST, Employer Health Tax, and WorkSafeBC
✔️ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
✔️ Experience with Sage 50 is considered a strong asset
✔️ Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
✔️ Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Finger Joint and industrial equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and minimize downtime
• Install, align, and commission new machinery and components
• Work closely with operations to support production efficiency
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Red Seal Millwright certification (or equivalent experience considered)
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience in a sawmill or heavy industrial environment is an asset

May 5th holds a deeply personal and historic significance for me.

On this day in 1945, the Netherlands was liberated by Canadian soldiers, bringing an end to years of occupation during World War II.

As someone who was born in Holland in 1940, this is not just a moment in history, it is a reminder of freedom restored, of hope returned, and of the extraordinary courage shown by those who fought for a future they would never fully see themselves.

The Canadian Armed Forces played a pivotal role in that liberation.

Their bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten by the Dutch people.

To this day, the bond between Canada and the Netherlands remains one of deep respect and gratitude.

In recognition of this important day, I have proudly raised the Dutch flag at Brink Forest Products.

It stands as a tribute to the liberation of my home country, and as a symbol of remembrance for the men and women who made that freedom possible.

May we never take our freedom for granted. And may we always remember those who gave so much so that we could live in peace.
