Client spotlight, meet Abby.

Abby came to me wanting something natural. Something that still felt like her, just elevated. She doesn't wear much makeup day to day, so we kept things soft and natural from the start.

After the trial I always tell my brides the same thing, wear it out, take notes, and let me know what you love and what you don't. Abby came back with two things. Her lips felt too heavy in a lipstick, so we switched to a sheer gloss for something lighter and more her. And her eyes felt a touch too dark, so we lightened them up.

That's the beauty of a trial. It's not about getting it perfect the first time. It's about listening and adjusting until it feels completely right for you.

Swipe to see her trial, then her day of makeup. This is what natural, elevated, and unmistakably Abby looked like on her big day.

Dewy or matte, it's not about which one wins. It's about what your skin loves and what vibe you're going for.

Dewy is fresh. Natural. Glowy. It works beautifully on drier skin types and it photographs like light is coming from inside you. Perfect for that soft romantic bridal look.

Matte is bold. Velvety. Airbrushed. It works so well on oilier skin types and holds up all day without breaking down. Great if you want that polished full glam finish that stays put.

Neither one is more "you" than the other. Some brides want to glow. Some want that flawless velvet finish. Both are gorgeous. Both are valid.

Tell me, are you a dewy bride or a matte bride?

Wedding makeup has a LOT of myths attached to it, so let’s clear a few of them up. 👀
💄You don’t need a full glam face just because you’re being photographed. Natural makeup doesn’t mean fewer products or less skill. Makeup can soften the appearance of texture, but it can’t erase real skin. And as much as I would LOVE to promise completely tearproof makeup… tears are going to tear. 😂

Good bridal makeup isn’t about covering you up or creating an unrealistic version of your skin. It’s about choosing the right products, applying them intentionally, and creating a look that feels like you while holding up through hugs, happy tears, dancing, photos and everything else your wedding day brings. And because real life happens, every one of my brides receives a touch up kit for the day.

🤍Swipe through for four wedding makeup myths I’d happily leave behind. ✨

Your lash lift is done… now let’s keep those lashes looking their best. 🤍

✨A lash lift is pretty low maintenance, but a little bit of aftercare goes a LONG way when it comes to getting the most out of your results.

Those first 24 to 48 hours are especially important while your lashes settle into their new shape, so be gentle with them! After that, simple things like brushing them with a clean, dry spoolie, avoiding oil based products and giving them a little extra TLC can help keep your lift looking beautiful for weeks.

And yes… this is your reminder to book your next appointment before you forget.👀

Save this post for after your next lash lift, or send it to your lash lift bestie! 💕

One of the first questions I ask when someone sits in my chair is, “Have you ever had your makeup professionally done before?”

Most of the time, the answer is yes. But every once in a while, I get a no.

Earlier this year, I had the absolute privilege of working with a wedding party where THREE of the women had never had their makeup professionally done before. And I don’t take that lightly. There are so many reasons someone may have never sat in a makeup artist’s chair before, and when it’s your first time, there can be just as much anxiety as excitement. You’re trusting someone you may have just met with your face, on a day when you know there are going to be hundreds of photos taken.

So I always take a little extra time. I explain what I’m doing and why. Why I’m choosing certain products. What something is going to feel like before I apply it. I check in throughout the process and make sure they still feel like themselves when they look in the mirror. Because professional makeup shouldn’t feel like something that is happening to you. You should feel comfortable, included and excited throughout the process.

Getting to be someone’s first professional makeup artist is such an immense privilege. And seeing that little moment when they finally look in the mirror and realize, “Oh… I still look like me. I just feel really beautiful,” will never get old. 🤍

✨ Before & After ✨

One of the biggest misconceptions about professional makeup is that it's meant to completely transform you. For me, that's never been the goal. My goal is to create a look that still feels like you—just a little more polished, a little more radiant, and ready for one of life's biggest celebrations.

This beautiful bridesmaid wanted soft, glowing skin, defined eyes, and makeup that would last from getting ready with her best friends all the way through to the last dance. Together, we created a timeless look that enhanced her natural features instead of covering them. The best part? Seeing the confidence that comes after that final look in the mirror. That smile says it all. Whether you're the bride, a bridesmaid, or a wedding guest, you deserve to feel beautiful, confident, and completely yourself. That's exactly what I strive to create with every face that sits in my chair. 🤍

It feels like it's finally time to properly introduce myself. 💕

Hi, I'm Natasha, the face behind Beauty with Tash. My love for beauty started long before I ever picked up a professional makeup brush. Growing up with three older sisters, I was constantly begging them to paint my nails, curl my hair, or let me play with their makeup. When they weren't looking, I'd sneak into my mom's makeup bag, and every bit of allowance I earned went straight to the drugstore makeup aisle.

At just 15 years old, I took my very first beauty course, and from that moment on, I knew this was where my heart belonged. After graduating high school, I actually went to pre-law. It didn't take long for me to realize that while I admired the profession, I was missing creativity. So I made the leap back into beauty and moved to Vancouver to study Fashion, Film, and Television Makeup with dreams of becoming an on-set makeup artist.

As I learned more about the industry, I realized special effects and film weren't where my passion truly lived. Instead, I fell in love with making real people feel beautiful and confident. That led me into editorial and bo***ir makeup when I returned to Prince George, where I spent years refining my skills and developing my artistry. Over time, my path naturally led me to bridal makeup—and I honestly can't imagine doing anything else. There's something incredibly special about being part of one of the most important mornings of someone's life. Seeing that smile when they look in the mirror for the first time never gets old. Helping my brides feel confident, beautiful, and completely themselves is the greatest privilege, and it's the reason I love what I do every single day. Thank you to everyone who has trusted me to be part of your story. It truly means the world to me. 🤍
