It’s a tough situation, with insurance, deductibles, and urgent needs for her upcoming bookings.

First, I cannot thank everyone enough for the messages, shares, support, and for keeping an eye on Marketplace, buy-and-sell pages, and other listings.

This is only a PORTION of what was taken from my studio. There are still many items I’m remembering and documenting as I go.

Again, this is only a portion of what is missing.

A large quantity of professional makeup appearing together for sale — particularly multiple shades of the same foundations, professional palettes, hundreds of brushes, class mirrors, professional kit bags, hair tools and large amounts of disposable supplies — would be especially unusual.

If you see anything suspicious being advertised or sold, please do not confront anyone. Please screenshot the listing, seller information and any identifying details and provide that information to police.

CLIENT PRIVACY

I also want to reassure all of my clients that I do not, and have never, kept client information inside the studio. My bookings are handled professionally online, and I do not accept walk-in appointments. No client booking records or personal client information were stored with the items that were taken.

I value everyone’s time and concern more than I can express. Thank you again to every person who has shared my posts, sent information, checked listings, reached out, or simply offered support.

Please continue keeping an eye out for suspicious advertisements or anyone suddenly selling a large quantity of professional makeup, skincare, hair tools or makeup-artist supplies.

I just want to express how incredibly grateful I am for all of the messages, comments, shares and words of support during such a difficult and upsetting time.

Please keep sharing the original post. The more eyes on it, the better chance we have of someone recognizing the items, remembering something they saw, or helping identify the person responsible.

From what we have gathered at the scene, we think the person moved the planters outside and burned a hole directly above the latch of the studio garage door to gain access. What is especially unsettling is how precise the location was. It certainly raises the concern that someone may have known where the latch was or scoped out the studio beforehand.

Our door has both a deadbolt and a regular door lock, and there are cameras across from our studio. There is an active police file, and I’m expecting to hear back from the officer who took the call on Tuesday, as they have just gone on days off. Because apparently I needed just a little more good luck this weekend.

For everyone asking — yes, I am insured. Always have been!!! I haven’t heard back from insurance yet, but with it being the weekend, I’m assuming I’ll hear from someone Monday 🤞

If you aren’t familiar with where my studio is located, it is right in the heart of downtown, in the same building as McBain Camera and across from the Primary Care Network. Behind original joes.
There is a significant amount of foot traffic in the area, including people experiencing homelessness; however, given the sheer amount of makeup, skincare, hair tools, bags, lighting equipment and other items that were taken, it seems likely that a vehicle would have been needed last to remove everything.

If you were in the area and noticed anything unusual or suspicious, even if it seemed insignificant at the time, please consider reporting it to police and referencing the open file.

Despite everything, I am incredibly thankful.I happened to have a client last night, which meant I was able to scramble and replace the small amount of supplies I could within about an hour before the stores closed. I’m also so grateful to my assistants who stepped up this morning and shared their own products so that we could still get our bridal parties ready and deliver the professional standard my clients expect and deserve.

🚨 ATTENTION — MY STUDIO WAS BROKEN INTO LAST NIGHT. PLEASE SHARE. 🚨

I am absolutely heartbroken, devastated and furious.

Last night, someone broke into my studio. They damaged and pried open our garage door and stole over $15,000 worth of my professional makeup, hair tools, skincare, brushes and equipment.

This wasn’t just “stuff.” This is my livelihood. These are the professional tools and products I have spent years building and investing in so I can do my job and take care of my clients.

Among the items stolen were:

• All FOUR of my black professional makeup bags
• One XL grey rolling makeup bag
• A practically brand-new Neewer light
• Remotes for my lighting equipment
• Professional hair tools
• Large quantities of professional makeup, skincare and brushes
• My discontinued Dior collection — something that cannot simply be replaced 😭
• Products from Drunk Elephant, Tatcha, The Ordinary, Dior, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Tarte and many more professional brands

And of course, this happened right before a full weekend of weddings.

Instead of preparing for my brides and doing the job I love, I have been scrambling to replace thousands of dollars’ worth of essential products and tools at the last possible minute so that my clients aren’t affected by someone else’s actions.

Angry is an understatement.

We had locks. We had barricades. We took precautions. They still forced their way inside and helped themselves to the things I have worked incredibly hard for.

I am exhausted by the theft and property crime happening in our community. People should not have to feel like nothing they work for is safe, even when they take precautions to protect it.

YES — this has been reported to police.

If anyone in Red Deer or the surrounding area sees someone suddenly selling or possessing a suspiciously large amount of high-end makeup, skincare, professional brushes, hair tools, makeup cases or photography/studio equipment, PLEASE do not confront them.

Report the information to police.

Please keep an eye on Marketplace, buy-and-sell groups, resale pages and anywhere these products may suddenly appear.

If you see something suspicious, take screenshots and save the seller information/listing so it can be provided to police.

I cannot even accept my items back is the crying shame.
They stole my career. It’s how I bring bread to my table.
It represents money, time and years of work that somebody decided they were entitled to take.
