you can do laser hair removal during summer, but only if you can keep the treated area out of the sun and not tanned. Summer is not the problem by itself; sun exposure, tanning, sunburn, and fake tan are the problem because they increase the risk of burns, irritation, hyperpigmentation, and uneven results.
Avoid tanning, tanning beds, fake tan, and heavy sun exposure on the area being treated. A practical rule is at least 2 weeks before, but 3–4 weeks is safer, especially for darker skin tones or areas exposed to sun. If the skin is sunburned or visibly tanned, postpone the session.
Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily on exposed areas, and reapply if you are outside. Mayo Clinic specifically recommends avoiding sun/tanning beds and using SPF 30 or higher before laser hair removal.
Do not wax, pluck, or thread the area for about 4 weeks before because the laser needs the hair root/follicle to target. Shaving is okay, and usually you should shave the area the day before the appointment.
