That Healing Witch

Those words changed everything.

After more testing, I underwent surgery and received a bone graft that my body rejected. Over the next two years, I became sicker and weaker, while my mom fought relentlessly to find someone who would listen.

Eventually, we found a surgeon willing to look deeper. He removed the failed bone graft, inserted a titanium rod into my femur, and we finally got the diagnosis that should have come years earlier.

I didn't have leukemia.

I had McCune-Albright syndrome and fibrous dysplasia, a rare condition that had been mistaken for cancer.

That experience changed the way I see healing forever.

It taught me that doctors are human. They don't always have the answers.

It taught me to ask questions, seek second opinions, and advocate for myself.

It taught me to trust my intuition when something didn't feel right.

Most of all, it taught me that healing is about more than medicine.

Medicine saved my life when the right surgeon found the real problem.

But surviving those years taught me something medicine couldn't.

Healing also requires hope.

It requires resilience.

It requires believing that your story isn't over, even when everything around you tells you otherwise.

Years later, after surviving abuse, becoming a single mom, and rebuilding my life from the ground up, I finally understood why I had survived.

Today, I help women regulate their nervous systems and reconnect with themselves because I know what it's like to feel like your body has become a place you no longer recognize.

Healing isn't about choosing between science and intuition.

Sometimes you need medicine.

Sometimes you need rest.

Sometimes you need someone to remind you that your body is capable of healing, and that you are worthy of fighting for.

Never stop advocating for yourself.

Your life is worth it.

Most people think stress is just feeling overwhelmed.

But stress has a way of settling into the body.

Sometimes it looks like waking up already exhausted, even after a full night's sleep.

Sometimes it's the tight shoulders you've gotten so used to that you don't even notice them anymore.

It's the jaw you clench without realizing.
The headaches.
The racing thoughts when you're trying to fall asleep.
The constant feeling that you should be doing more, even when you're completely drained.

Sometimes it looks like snapping at the people you love because your nervous system has been carrying too much for too long.

Or never being able to truly relax because your body doesn't remember what safe feels like.

I've been there.

I know what it's like to live in survival mode, where your body is always waiting for the next thing to go wrong.

Healing wasn't about pretending life became stress-free.

It was about teaching my nervous system that it didn't have to stay in survival forever.

That's one of the reasons I love Reiki so much.

It's not about "fixing" you.

It's about creating a safe space where your mind and body can finally exhale. A place where your nervous system is reminded that rest is safe, peace is possible, and you don't have to carry everything alone anymore.

Your body has been speaking to you all along.

Maybe it's time to start listening.

Not because you need to lose weight.
Not because you need to be more confident.
Not because you need better photos.

Simply because you deserve a day that is entirely about you. 🤍

A day where you get to slow down.
To laugh until your cheeks hurt.
To meet women who were strangers that morning but somehow feel like friends by sunset.

To reconnect with yourself.
To step outside your comfort zone in a space where there is absolutely no judgment—only encouragement, support, and women cheering each other on.

Yes, there will be beautiful sunflower photos.
But somewhere along the way, this stopped being just a sunflower photo shoot.
It became a movement.

A day where local women-owned businesses come together to pour into other women.

A day that supports two incredible local charities.

A day filled with genuine connection, self-love, laughter, and moments you’ll carry long after the sunflowers are gone.
