A new month, a new season, and the perfect time to add a little refresh to your beauty and self-care routine.

As we head into fall, it’s a great time to give our skin a little extra love, switch up our makeup colours, and make time for the things that help us feel good.

For me, beauty isn’t about trying to look younger or following every new trend. It’s about taking care of the skin you’re in, finding products you genuinely enjoy, and doing the little things that make you feel confident.

What’s one thing you’re looking forward to this September?

Beauty, at its best, doesn’t happen in isolation. It’s shaped together in everyday moments, the messy and frame-worthy. Tag someone who helped shape your story.

There are so many skincare products out there, and they all promise amazing things—glowing skin, fewer lines, better texture, that beautiful “glass skin” look. And that’s not to say they don’t deliver. But here’s the thing I’ve learned: what works for one person may not work for someone else.

I used skincare from a company a while back that’s known for delivering that gorgeous, glowing glass-skin look for some time. I actually really liked the products, and I loved that they are clean products. Unfortunately, my skin reacted—and not in a good way.

It was a good reminder that even a highly rated product with great ingredients and thousands of glowing reviews isn’t automatically going to be right for your skin.

Before jumping on the latest skincare trend, think about your own skin first. What does it need? Is it dry, oily, sensitive or reactive? What ingredients have worked for you in the past? Introduce new products gradually, patch test when you can, and give your skin time to tell you what it thinks.

And don’t feel like you need a complicated 10-step routine just because everyone else seems to have one. Sometimes a few products that your skin genuinely loves are far better than a shelf full of whatever happens to be trending.

Skincare is personal. The best skincare isn’t necessarily the one everyone is talking about—it’s the one that works for YOU.

I’ve noticed that as I’ve gotten older, my skin doesn’t always stay the same. Some days it’s dry, but I still get breakouts. Some days it looks dull even when I’ve slept well.

If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and thought, “Is anyone else dealing with this?”… you’re definitely not alone.

These are some of the things I’ve learned about caring for my skin after 50+. Not because I’m trying to look younger, but because I want healthy, comfortable skin at every age.
