Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts that have been used for thousands of years for their therapeutic and medicinal properties. Some essential oils, such as lavender and frankincense, have even been shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin elasticity.

Barebones exclusively uses essential oils instead of fragrance oil to add scent and additional skin benefits to our products. Traditional fragrance oils found in common skincare items are often made up of a complex mixture of artificial ingredients, and can be irritating or trigger allergies.

Grass-fed Tallow heals the skins moisture barrier and improve the appearance of skin. Tallow has been used for skincare for centuries as it is rich in nutrients and easily absorbs into our skin, without clogging pores.

Olive oil provides the added benefits of antioxidants and hydrating squalene, increasing the water content of the skin and improving its health and appearance.

At Barebones Apothecary, our mission is to create natural yet luxurious personal care products that are non-toxic and sustainable. Our products are small batched and handcrafted in Toronto.

Dream Whip is an ultra-moisturizing whipped face balm. Made with hydrating oils, including tallow, for the perfect multi-use beauty balm. Purified grass-fed tallow is loaded with vitamins, acids and minerals, essential in healing and protecting skin from environmental stressors.

Our Zero-Waste Dish Soap bars are made from organic coconut oil and a refreshing blend of essential oils- that's it. This soap easily lifts dirt and grease and also makes a great laundry bar!
