That night, he got into a vehicle with three cousins from his father’s side to meet his grandfather. Around 1:30 a.m., Giovanni texted his mother, “Mom, help,” and reportedly reached out to other relatives as well. His cousins later claimed he began acting erratically and pulled a knife, prompting them to pull over. Giovanni then exited the vehicle and walked away.

On August 8, a badly d8composed body was discovered in a retention pond near I-75 and State Road 70 in Manatee County, close to his last known location. While the remains were preliminarily believed to be Giovanni’s, positive identification has been delayed due to the advanced state of decomposition. No signs of foul play or visible trauma were found during the autopsy, but the cause and manner of d*ath remain undetermined pending toxicology results, which could take months.

Giovanni’s family has criticized law enforcement for what they describe as a slow and insufficient search effort, noting that it was a private search group and relatives who ultimately located his body. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of his d*ath.🙏🏾🕊️💔
