We know what today has felt like for a lot of our neighbors, watching the smoke build, packing a bag with whatever fits, and leaving on a moments notice. Our hearts are with everyone under an evacuation order or alert tonight, and with the OKIB crews, BC Wildfire Service and first responders still out there working.

We can’t offer shelter or assurances, but we can offer a warm meal, something to drink, and a quiet place to sit and breathe for a bit. Come in, bring your family, you’re welcome here.

That goes for the crews too. If you’re on the fire, in the air, or on the ground, your food and coffee are on us.

As always, we trust this community completely. No proof, no verification, no questions asked. You’ve been through enough and we’ll take you at your word. 🙏

Just a quick post to tell folks where to go to drop off donations.

Bring items to: Kim Heinzman at Oakwyn Realty at 3308 30 ave, but around back on Coldstream Ave across from Fishers Hardware. Unperishable food items, including pet food (Bosley's Pet Store already dropped off a huge amount of food). Black building...look for the sign!
