Sharing this goodie from 2 years ago!!!
Off Campus is incredible!! I can't say enough good things about it. please watch it!
Heads up: we see b***s and in the final episode we see some naughty body parts (I hate censoring for the dang algorithm)
I love menopause!!
It's not all peachy everyday, but I was expecting the worst. My body is responding well, and I'm reminded that I need to move my body regularly, thoughtfully (especially after being horizontal on the couch for 8 weeks).
I played a tonne of phone games and watched TV while recovering; thought I would knit, paint, read - nope! And that's okay.
I started to feel a lil stir crazy about week 5, which told me the physical and mental recovery were quite different.
I'll keep sharing my experience of menopause!
My energy level since total hysterectomy on April 1 is lower than I anticipated so I'm working my way up to having more energy, strength, and stamina.
I walk 25 minutes, ensuring that I sweat, then do 10 minute yoga. I try to move my body every 45 minutes at least.
I think I may need to sleep longer, too. Guess I'll move my bedtime earlier to see if that helps.
One week post-op and I'm having such a good time!
Super grateful to my care team and friends for stopping in to check on me.
I have to force myself to move slower than I want and bend less. I am typically a stretch on the floor person, and I can't do that right now.
My sleeping is wonky right now - 4am last night is atypical and not my fave. Loving heating pads, they are the GOAT.
48 hours post-op and I'm doing great!!
Super grateful for my care team and how well my body is carrying me through.
Hysterectomy on April 1! Perfect timing
This is reproductive rights and health.
Week 5 & 6: not much is new. My body has figured out menopause and loves it!
Short-term hormone blocker to prep for surgery! Makes organ removal easier and encourages my body to chill out. You can do it, too!!
Katrina is amazing!! She's a friend of mine, and if you're looking for a therapist, check out her website. She's on the west coast, so keep in mind time difference :)
