Nepal is recovering from the floods that struck on 26 August 2026, and we're standing with the communities affected.

Through the Givaudan Humanitarian Fund, we have donated CHF 50,000 via Action Against Hunger to support relief and recovery efforts for families and communities across the impacted areas.

For over ten years, Givaudan has supported a research project exploring how scent can become a tool for communication for people with severe multiple disabilities.

Led by researchers at the University of Fribourg, in partnership with the Clair-Bois Foundation and with the support of Givaudan Vernier and the Givaudan Foundation, the research has brought scientific validation to this approach: even where cognitive and motor abilities are significantly affected, the sense of smell remains functional — and can become a genuine channel for communication and learning.

This work has led to the "Olf-Action" kit, developed in partnership with the Petit Conservatoire du Polyhandicap and co-funded by Givaudan Vernier and the Givaudan Foundation — a guide and set of eight scents designed to make this approach accessible to families and professionals. The kit will be distributed free of charge starting this autumn.

Scent is linked to some of the oldest regions of our brain, carrying information essential to our relational, cognitive and emotional development.

Our Argenteuil site opened its doors to our families for an exceptional open day: from our research laboratories to the School of Perfumery, through our Flavour laboratories, everyone got to discover the richness of our expertise through immersive experiences, demonstrations and tastings.

A big thank you to our 26 guides and all the volunteers who made this day a success — and to our colleagues, who were the best ambassadors for Givaudan among their loved ones.
