Two years ago today, we officially said YES. 🤍

Only two years?
Somehow it feels much longer.

Since then, life has been…let’s say intense.

Not long after our wedding, I had back surgery.
We moved into a new home.
We said goodbye to Saphira after 16 years together. 🤍

And at the same time, we were building the recovery space that now holds MshotCafè.Zurich and the health studio. I Daniela I Sleep + Recovery I Oerlikon

There was recovery, waiting, building, changing plans, sleepless nights and a lot of patience. But through all of it, there was also so much love, laughter - and yes, resilience.

And now, finally, the doors are open.

When people have asked us over the past months, “How are you two doing?”, I’ve sometimes joked:

“We’re still married. That’s a good sign.” 😄

And actually, it is.

Because through surgery and recovery, moving, loss, building, waiting and everything in between, there is nobody I would rather have beside me.

Are we really only two years in?

It feels like we’ve already lived through quite a few chapters.

And I wouldn’t do any of it with anyone else but you.

Happy anniversary, my love. 🤍 Marco Ganassi

Life asked us to slow down for a moment.
Recovering after surgery.

Right after surgery, the health studio. moved for the first time into TuricumFit | Functional Training

At the same time, we were building the recovery space that would later become our new home.

Building the studio from scratch.

Another part of the bigger vision slowly taking shape - Marco built so much of the bar by himself (with loads of help, of course)

And because apparently that wasn’t enough, we moved our private home too. 😄

And in between all the new beginnings, we had to say goodbye to Saphira after 16 years. ❤️‍🩹

After almost a year of waiting: finally, we opened the doors.

I wouldn’t do any of it with anyone else but you. 🤍

Aaaaaah, finally some time to rest…
…and then it just doesn’t happen.

We all know what feeling, right?

The restlessness is still there. That nervous feeling.

So you clean the house, check your phone, scroll, answer one more email or find something else to do.

Why is that?

Your nervous system simply learned that slowing down wasn’t safe.

The beautiful thing is that it can learn something new.

And that usually doesn’t happen when everything feels comfortable.

It often begins by staying with just a little bit of discomfort, long enough for your body to realize:

I am safe here. 🫶🏼

You might like working with me if you are not looking for someone to hand you another perfect routine.

My work is for people who want to understand what may be influencing their sleep, breathing, energy, recovery or stress. And who appreciate that the answer is rarely one isolated thing.

I look at patterns.

How you breathe when you are resting.
How your system responds to stress.
Whether your routines support recovery or simply add more pressure.
What your body may need more of. And sometimes less of.

I also bring something personal to this work.

My empathy does not only come from training or professional experience. It comes from knowing what it feels like to struggle with your own health over a long period of time. To search for answers, to feel frustrated, and to learn that progress is rarely linear.

I do not share this to make the story dramatic. I share it because it shapes how I listen, how carefully I work and how seriously I take the person in front of me.

I use different tools in my work, including functional breathing, sleep coaching, movement, nervous-system support and IHHT oxygen therapy. But the method is never the starting point.

The starting point is you.

No copy-paste protocol. No promise that one tool will solve everything. No pressure to turn health into another full-time job.

Just careful observation, realistic next steps and support that adapts to the person in front of me.

If this resonates with you, I’d be very happy to meet you. 🤝

Tiredness can look very similar on the surface, even when the reason behind it is completely different.

Sometimes the body needs less. Sometimes it needs more consistent sleep, more movement, a different breathing pattern or support with recovery.

This is why I find blanket advice such as “just rest more” difficult.

For me, the first step is not trying to remove the feeling as quickly as possible. It is understanding what kind of tiredness is actually present.

How many times have you said to yourself…

“I don’t know what’s wrong with me today.”

But maybe nothing is wrong with you.

Maybe you started carrying things long before that email arrived.

The alarm that felt too early.

The breakfast you ate standing up.

The phone call.

The traffic.

The decision fatigue.

The messages you still haven’t replied to.

Then one more email appears…

…and suddenly it feels like too much.

Not because you’re weak.

Not because you’re “not resilient.”

Because your nervous system has been adapting all day without a chance to recover.

We’ve become so good at moving from one task to the next that we rarely notice what happens in between.

And maybe that’s what’s missing.

Not another productivity hack.

Just a pause.

🌿 Before you leave this post…

Unclench your jaw.

Drop your shoulders.

Take one slow breath out.

Nothing around you has changed.

But you’ve just reminded your body that this moment is safe.

If this felt like your day, save it for the next time life feels a little too loud. 🤍

We like to think that our decisions are purely rational.

What I find interesting about this study is not that slower breathing made people choose the riskier option. It is that changing the body’s state appeared to change how strongly possible rewards influenced their decisions.

My take: before an important decision, it may be useful to notice your state first. Not to force yourself to feel calm or to choose differently, but to understand what may already be influencing you.

When do you feel you make your clearest decisions?

Being regulated does not mean being calm all the time.

Stress, frustration, sadness and anger are not signs that your nervous system is failing. They are normal responses to life.

The more useful question is what happens afterwards.

Can your body gradually settle again?
Can your breathing soften?
Can you return to yourself without staying stuck in the same state for hours or days?

Nervous system regulation is not about avoiding activation or trying to remain peaceful in every situation.

It is about flexibility: being able to respond when something matters and gradually return when the moment has passed.

What helps you return after a stressful moment?
