We revamp used soda, beer, wine, and spirit bottles into smart looking drinking glasses, lovely glass ornaments, nifty bar accessories and everything in between. Dushi Up is created out of a passion to preserve our island’s natural beauty and raising environmental awareness among the local community and our island’s visitors. A great number of these beverages come in beautiful bottles, yet after i
ts contents are enjoyed, the bottles end up in the landfill or even worse in nature. Glass, unless treated with chemicals, will never decompose entirely. Luckily through recycling, glass can be re-used over and over again and save tons of resources otherwise needed to create the glass again. Unfortunately not many efforts are made at the moment and the bottles keep piling up on our landfill and on the side of the road. And with a growing number of hospitality businesses, the largest contributor of glass waste, that will not change unless we do something. At Dushi Up we try to do our part in contributing to a cleaner Curacao by implementing the concept of “upcycling”. The idea behind upcycling is taking up the cliché; one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. We re-purpose used glass bottles, sourced from local hospitality businesses, into all kinds of beautiful glass products. If it is glass, we will make it last.
