A wedding like no other – set on a boat gliding through the heart of Berlin, passing the city’s lights and landmarks, the air filled with music, laughter, and the sparkle of the Spree at night.

They anchored at one of Berlin’s most iconic clubs, where the celebration sailed seamlessly into the night – dancing, stories, and a sea of unforgettable moments.

Special weddings deserve to be told from a special perspective – moments captured not just as they looked, but as they felt.
Because some stories are meant to be preserved for a lifetime.

Over the years behind the camera, I’ve learned something important:
The best camera, the most expensive lens, the most advanced settings they’re all just tools.
What truly makes the difference is how I see.

Technique can make an image sharp.
My perspective can make it alive.

When I photograph, it’s not just about “capturing” something.
I want to feel what’s happening. I want to understand who or what is in front of me.
I want to find that invisible thread that connects the scene to the viewer
and freeze that exact moment in time.

That’s why my vision matters more than any setting in the camera:

It catches nuances you can’t measure.
It senses moods before they even show.
It decides what stays in the frame and what doesn’t.
That’s why a photograph might be “beautiful” to you –
but for me, it holds an entire chapter of a story.

For years, I edited every portrait to perfection. Pores smoothed, flyaways erased, every image polished to a flawless finish. I believed I was elevating my subjects, making them better versions of themselves.

But the more I edited, the more I realized I was removing something essential. The photos started to feel sterile. Beautiful, but lifeless. I was so used to retouching that I became numb to what real actually looked like.

One day, I looked at a final gallery and noticed the soul was missing. The energy, the texture, the detail that makes a person unique all gone under layers of perfection.

Around that time, I discovered Peter Lindbergh’s work. His stance against heavy retouching hit me hard. He said the obsession with perfection was “terrorizing the world.” That stuck.

I changed my process. Today, I stop at 80%. The final 20% the polish I used to apply. I intentionally leave out. Not because I care less, but because I care differently.

I let skin texture stay. I don’t erase laugh lines or light catching on stray hairs. What I used to fix, I now see as signs of life.

At first, I feared clients might think it was lazy. But they didn’t. They connected more. They saw themselves not a porcelain version, but a real one.

Now my work feels alive again. The images breathe. They’re real.

A photo doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful. Sometimes, truth lives in the 20% you leave untouched.
