What if I told you Medusa started with a pair of fishnet stockings?

A little Halloween throwback to my years as a makeup artist. No Hollywood budget. Just imagination, a few unexpected materials, and a lot of patience.
Here’s what you need and how to recreate the look.
WHAT YOU NEED
• A black wig
• A headband
• Plastic snakes
• Wire
• Gold spray paint
• Green Kryolan makeup in different shades
• Kryolan gold powder
• False eyelashes
• Fishnet stockings
• Moisturizer
• Makeup brushes and sponge
• Translucent setting powder
HOW TO CREATE THE LOOK
1. Build the headpiece.
Attach the plastic snakes to the headband using wire. Arrange them at different angles and heights to create movement. Spray them gold and let them dry completely.
Important: Always use spray paint outdoors, never inside your home.
2. Prepare the skin.
Start with clean skin and apply moisturizer. Let it absorb properly before applying the makeup.
3. Create the green base.
Apply your green Kryolan makeup with a sponge, building coverage gradually. Work with different shades of green to create shadows, highlights and dimension.
4. Create the scales.
Stretch a piece of fishnet stocking over the skin and gently dab makeup through the mesh with a sponge. Remove it carefully to reveal the reptilian pattern.
5. Add the gold.
Use Kryolan gold powder to highlight selected areas and bring the texture to life.
6. Finish the transformation.
Define the eyes, apply false lashes and set the makeup with translucent powder. Add the wig and your handmade snake headpiece.
And there she is. Medusa.
Sometimes creativity isn’t about what you have. It’s about what you can imagine doing with it.

We’ve tried everything over time — from dark copper to light blonde. This time, I wanted the color to live somewhere in between.
