We were very happy to receive one more year an international team of students of with a visit to our roastery.

We tasted some coffees, learned about the production chain and had a walk in our coffee museum. That is always so exciting to get to see students making their paths into impressive gastronomic careers! We wish all of you guys good luck and never give up on doing what you love.

On the second photo near Nicolas from Planting Costa Roca are Don Willam with is daughter Hellen and his grandson. Cuzuco in our seasonal menu is their gem.
On the third photo is Don Ivan, producer of coffee with the name that speaks for itself - Candy.

Here is a decaf coffee you will like, even if you are not a decaf drinker!
Sugarcane EA is a gentle method, that will surprise you with a clean and complex cup. It does not sacrifice the original flavours of a delicious washed Colombian coffee from Caldas region. You will still enjoy a pleasant lemon acidity and a nice touch of gingerbread cookie notes.
So how it is actually made?
First green coffee is steamed in a low-pressure environment. So the pores get open, allowing for easier caffeine extraction. EA in the name stands for Ethyl Acetate, that is a naturally occurring compound and solvent derived from the fermentation of sugarcane. After the steaming phase the beans are submerged in the solvent, which bonds to the salts of chlorogenic acids within the coffee, allowing the extraction of caffeine. With time the beans get saturated and the solution has to be renewed. This manipulation is done several times until the process is finished. Than beans are steamed again to remove all traces of EA, they get dried, prepared for transportation and roasting.

So now it is easier for you to navigate between the taste profiles of our coffees.
