Why movement matters at every age
Our bodies are designed to move, no matter how old we are.
Regular movement helps keep muscles strong, joints mobile, and makes everyday activities like walking, climbing stairs, or carrying shopping that little bit easier. It doesn't have to mean intense exercise either. A daily walk, swimming, gardening, or stretching can all make a real difference.
The important thing is to keep moving in a way that suits your body. Every little bit counts.
What's your favourite way to stay active?
You've planned your holiday... now plan some time for yourself.
When you're on holiday, you finally have something that's often in short supply... time.
You're away from work, the housework can wait, and the usual daily routine is on pause. It's the perfect opportunity to slow down, switch off, and do something for yourself.
Whether you've been exploring the Costa del Sol, spending long days at the beach, or simply want to make your holiday even more relaxing, a massage is the perfect way to recharge before heading home.
If you're visiting Benalmádena this summer, why not make a massage part of your holiday?
Things clients say before the massage starts...
After 15+ years as a massage therapist, I've heard them all!
"I've been meaning to book for ages."
"My shoulders are so tight!"
"I don't know what I've done."
"It only started as a little ache."
"I just moved and it started hurting"
If you've said any of these before... don't worry, you're definitely not the only one! They're all things I hear regularly in the clinic.
Which one have you said... or what would you add to the list?
Why does your body feel different after a day at the beach?
A day at the beach can be more of a workout than you think!
Walking on sand makes your muscles work harder, swimming uses muscles throughout your body, and carrying beach bags, cool boxes, or children all adds extra strain. Then there's lying on a sunbed or towel for hours, which can leave your back and neck feeling stiff when you get up.
It's no wonder many people notice a few extra aches after a beach day.
How does your body feel after a day on the beach?
3 signs your body is asking for a break.
Your body is good at letting you know when it's had enough, we just don't always listen.
• You're feeling more tired than usual, even after a good night's sleep.
• Your muscles feel tight or achy no matter what you do.
• You're finding it harder to switch off and fully relax.
Sometimes the best thing you can do isn't push through, it's give your body the chance to recover.
Have you noticed any of these signs recently?
Maybe it's time for a massage.
What's one thing your body has done for you today?
We often only notice our bodies when something hurts or doesn't feel quite right.
But every day, your body is doing incredible things without you even thinking about it. It's helping you walk, work, hug the people you love, exercise, breathe, heal, and even while you're asleep it's busy repairing and recovering.
Today, take a moment to appreciate your body instead of focusing on what's wrong with it. It does far more for you than we often give it credit for.
So... what's one thing your body has helped you do today?
Things your massage therapist really doesn't care about
One of the most common things I hear is, "I'm sorry..."
I'm sorry I haven't shaved my legs...
I'm sorry about my body...
I'm sorry if I fall asleep...
I'm sorry if I talk too much... or don't talk at all.
The truth is... we don't mind! Our focus is on helping you feel comfortable and giving you the best treatment possible. So please don't worry about the little things, we've seen it all before.
If you've ever apologised for one of these... you're definitely not the only one!
What do I check before every massage?
Every massage starts with a conversation.
First, I want to understand what has brought you to the clinic. Are you struggling with muscle tension, reduced mobility, recovering from exercise, or are you simply looking to relax?
I'll also ask about your medical history to make sure there are no contraindications, along with your work and lifestyle. All of this helps me build a picture of you, so I can tailor the treatment to your body and your needs, not just follow the same routine for every client.
That's why no two massages in my clinic are ever exactly the same.

August is a busy month!
August is one of the busiest times of year here in Benalmádena, which means appointments are getting booked much quicker than usual.
Whether you're living on the Costa del Sol and you've got a day off planned, or you're flying over for your summer holiday, now is the perfect time to secure your massage before my diary fills up.
As I'm the only massage therapist in the clinic and I limit the number of treatments I do each day, availability can become limited during the summer months.
If you'd like to book an appointment in August, send me a message on social media or WhatsApp and I'll do my best to find a time that works for you.
Why can your body still feel tight after exercise?
Exercise is great for your body, but it also places your muscles under load. Tiny muscle fibres are worked, and as they recover it's normal to feel some tightness or stiffness.
Recovery is just as important as the workout itself. Staying hydrated, getting enough rest, stretching, and giving your muscles time to recover can all help. Massage can also support recovery by helping you manage muscle tension and keep your body moving comfortably.
Do you make time for recovery, or do you go straight into your next workout?
