In 2000, Steve Chand, Skaffworks founder and Managing Director, having spent over 18 years in the Occupational Health Safety & Environmental Industry started working on diversifying the company’s services. Little did he know at the time that this would eventually become his calling. Meticulous and obsessive, Steve embraced the trade and began providing the Fiji market with beautifully functional a
nd durable construction and architectural systems. He believed in a simple principle, if we had to do it then it had to be done right. There were no short-cuts to this end and no budget retrains in acquiring the best people and best tools for the job. As such, his vision was to own all machinery required of the trade, even if it came at a cost and to provide the best for his customers. A testimony to this effect is the investment of almost a million dollars on scaffolding materials alone. Steve did not leave any stones unturned. He believed that to value people meant valuing their time.
