I used to be the life of the party — and I’ve definitely got the stories to prove it 😂. But there was another side to it too: binge drinking, blackouts, the next-day doom, horrible anxiety and that awful feeling of trying to piece together parts of the night before.
For a long time I thought that was just part of having fun. Until eventually, it wasn’t fun anymore.
Alcohol had started to feel toxic for me — not just physically, but for my head, my anxiety and the way I wanted to feel in my everyday life. So I decided to try something different.
And I’m loving it.
I’m not anti-alcohol and I’m certainly not here to preach or tell anyone else what they should do. This is simply my choice and my journey. I can still dress up, laugh until my face hurts, dance, be ridiculous and enjoy being part of things — I just get to remember all of it now. 😂
Last night summed it up perfectly: double denim, ridiculous silver boots, mocktails, lots of laughs... and then a tactical early exit home for veggie pizza, PJs and my own bed. And I genuinely couldn’t have been happier. 😂🍕✨
Same party girl. Different priorities.
Clearer mind. Better health. Less anxiety. Real connections. More presence. More peace. And absolutely no Sunday-morning doom.
And a little thank you to the people who have supported me without making it weird, questioning my choices or trying to persuade me otherwise. It means more than you probably realise. ❤️
