🌿 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🌿

12 years ago today, I handed in a 99-page dissertation after writing 19,000 words on computer-based fingerprint image analysis 🔬✨

Back then, I was deep in the world of science, research, and data - determined, exhausted, passionate, and very proud of what I had achieved. Looking back now, I can see that the same dedication, curiosity, and care still flows through everything I do today… just in a very different way.

After this, I went straight into working in a hospital haematology lab - another chapter of long shifts, precision, responsibility, and caring for people in a very different way. It’s strange looking back now and seeing how many versions of myself there have been over the years, but I can genuinely say every single one taught me something valuable.

From forensic science to hospital laboratories, and now to sound baths, reflexology, aromatherapy, and holistic therapies - the path may have changed, but the heart behind it hasn’t. I’ve always been fascinated by people, healing, connection, and understanding the human experience.

And yes… the chavvy emojis, dramatic captions, and “99 problems” reference are maybe a little bit embarrassing now 😂 But that was a younger version of me - one who worked incredibly hard, wore her heart on her sleeve, and helped shape the woman I am today. Honestly, I think she deserves a little appreciation too 💜

It’s also such a good reminder to stop sometimes and reflect on how far you’ve come. We’re often so focused on the next goal, the next challenge, or what still needs done, that we forget to acknowledge everything we’ve already overcome and achieved. Growth doesn’t always happen in obvious ways - sometimes it’s only when you look back that you realise just how much you’ve evolved ✨

Also… the butterfly lab book still feels very on brand 🦋✨

Sometimes your journey won’t make sense in a straight line until you stop and look back at how every version of you was building the next.

Here’s to honouring every chapter - even the stressful 99-page ones 🥰

This weekend marked the first SoulFire Serenity Women’s Circle Book Club, and what a beautiful evening it was.

The Prosecco was flowing, tea cups were always full, and the table was filled with buns, traybakes, and little fruit platters. And of course, everyone went home with their own little bag of ‘book worms’ - a fun little treat to celebrate our first gathering.

But the real magic wasn’t just the food and drinks… it was the energy in the room.

When women gather together with open hearts, conversation flows in the most natural way. Stories are shared, laughter fills the room, and something deeper begins to form - connection.

One of the most special moments of the evening was when everyone took a moment to pull their own personal oracle card, each message landing exactly where it needed to. It was a beautiful reminder that sometimes we are guided to the words we most need to hear. It felt like the perfect way to begin what I hope will grow into something truly special.

Because this isn’t just a book club.
It’s the beginning of a community.

A community of strong women who support each other, uplift each other, and create space to simply be.

✨ And this circle is open.
Women from all walks of life are welcome here. If you feel drawn to meaningful conversation, connection, and evenings shared in good company, there will always be a seat for you at the table.

And judging by the laughter, the conversations, and the full plates… I think we’re off to a beautiful start.
