💕 YOUR WINTER WAXING DOS & DON’TS

✅ DO keep to a regular waxing schedule — usually every 4–6 weeks depending on your hair growth.

✅ DO gently exfoliate between appointments to help prevent ingrown hairs.

✅ DO moisturise regularly, especially when central heating is drying out your skin.

✅ DO let your hair grow to the recommended length before your appointment so the wax has something to grip.

❌ DON’T shave between waxing appointments. It disrupts your waxing cycle and can make your next appointment less effective.

❌ DON’T heavily exfoliate immediately before or after waxing.

❌ DON’T apply fake tan immediately after waxing — give your skin time to settle.

❌ DON’T book a wax if your skin is sunburned, irritated or damaged.

And remember… waxing isn’t just a summer treatment! 💗

LET’S TALK ABOUT GEL NAILS AND TPO 🩷💅

You may have seen a beauty journalist discussing gel manicures and TPO on This Morning. It’s completely understandable to have questions when you hear concerns about the products used on your nails, and I believe every client should feel informed and reassured.

TPO is an ingredient that has been used in some gel products to help them cure under a lamp. Regulations and product formulations can change, so it’s important to use professional products from reputable brands and to follow the correct application and curing instructions.

I’m proud to be a small, home-based salon, and I want you to know that being home-based does not mean cutting corners or using inferior products.

I use the professional CND™ SHELLAC™ system, which is formulated without TPO, together with the appropriate CND lamp and products designed to work as a complete system.

I choose my products carefully, based on quality, safety, training and results. As an independent therapist, I personally select and know every product used during your treatment, keep up with industry updates and take responsibility for the service I provide.

Salon size does not determine product quality. A large salon may use a lesser-known product, while a small home-based salon can use one of the world’s most recognised professional systems.

When choosing a nail professional, it’s always sensible to ask questions:

What brand do you use? Is it a professional product? Is it TPO-free? Which lamp do you use? Have you been trained in the system?

A professional therapist should be happy to explain their products and procedures.

I have worked in the beauty industry for many years, and your safety and wellbeing are extremely important to me. I want you to feel confident, comfortable and informed every time you visit.

Small doesn’t mean less professional.
Home-based doesn’t mean less knowledgeable.
And bigger doesn’t automatically mean better. 🩷
