BIG NEW BEGINNINGS

Thorpe Manor is closing her doors to business at the end of this month. We are so proud to have been her custodians for 12 years and her 53 year family history with us. She now has the brightest possible future ahead as a much loved home.

We’d like to thank everyone we have worked with both on the restoration of Thorpe and to all our talented suppliers who made our business what it was, we had so much fun!

New beginnings coming for us soon elsewhere!

Fireplaces are a must in a period property. During the renovation project we restored twelve fireplaces. All twelve are different in their own unique ways.

One of our 14 bedrooms to choose from. Did you know the bedrooms are all named after race horses?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The current owner Mr Henry Teare, inherited the Manor in 2013. His step-father, the previous owner, was Mr Derek Ancil, a successful horse jockey, trainer and owner. Derek bought the Manor in 1968 where the adjacent stable block was used as his private training yard. A highlight of Derek’s career was winning The Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury in 1960, on his horse Knucklecracker. Never before or since, has a jockey won the race where he has been the horse owner and trainer. In a sentimental nod to Derek’s legacy, each bedroom has been named after his significant horses.
