After my post a couple of days ago, I really didn’t think this would be the following post.
Mum passed away in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
It’s come as a huge shock, and life really does feel like it’s lost its sparkle with her gone.
Although what has happened is horrific, she was never defined by her illness. She never let it take her sass, her quick wit, or the love and care she had for the people around her.
I know she won’t be remembered for the cancer in the salon.
She’ll be remembered as Harriet’s mum at the salon. My right hand. The go-to fixer. The in-salon babysitter. The one who loved a gossip. And so much more.
I’ll miss hearing clients tell me how glamorous she is. It always made me smile.
There’s a huge void in our family with her passing. She kept us all in line, kept us all on the right track, and I know how dearly she loved her family and how proud she was of us all.
The night sky will burn a little brighter now. ✨

A little personal update ❤️
I really hate getting personal on social media, but I don’t really know how else to talk to everyone at once.
For those of you who know me well, you’ll know that Mum isn’t just my mum — she’s also my right hand and such a huge part of the salon.
Unfortunately, her cancer has returned in her oesophagus. She had been doing quite well, but she has taken a bit of a turn.
She started chemotherapy last week, which means her immune system is going to be particularly vulnerable. She is currently in hospital being treated for a severe infection and, unfortunately, is really very poorly at the moment.
As a family, we’re being extremely careful around her — almost living back in Covid times with the antibacterial gel and all those delights!
With that in mind, I feel it’s really important that we’re a little extra careful at the salon for the foreseeable future, just so I don’t accidentally pass anything on to her. I’ve been extra on it with the deep cleaning, too.
But I’d also really appreciate it if you have a cold, flu, or are feeling generally unwell, please let us know before coming into the salon.
We want Mum to be able to continue being part of the salon when she’s feeling better and up for it, seeing all of the people she loves. But right now, keeping her as safe as possible is so important.
Thank you so much for understanding, and for all the love and kindness you’ve already shown our family. It genuinely means the world to us. I really mean that. ❤️
