Beautiful memories from Mexico 🇲🇽🤍

From exploring the vibrant streets and incredible cuisine of Mexico City, to relaxing on the beaches of Cancun, island hopping to Isla Mujeres, the unforgettable experience of swimming with whale sharks, and beautiful sunsets… every moment was one to remember.

Most of all, I’m grateful for the time spent making memories with the people I love ❤️

If I could only recommend ONE type of skin treatment after a sunny holiday, this would be it... ☀️💧

Most people assume they need to jump straight into chemical peels or microneedling when they get home.

But after days of UV exposure, swimming, air conditioning and heat, your skin often needs something much simpler first…

Hydration.

That’s why I usually recommend waiting around 2 weeks before treatments like chemical peels, microneedling and Focus Dual RF microneedling. Your skin needs time to recover before we intentionally create controlled injury.

However, hydration-boosting treatments are different.

This is where hyaluronic acid comes in💧 Rather than resurfacing the skin, hyaluronic acid-based treatments help replenish hydration and improve overall skin quality—which is exactly what many holiday skins need.

✈️ Planning a holiday soon instead?

Ideally, I recommend having these treatments around 2 weeks before you travel, giving them time to settle so you can enjoy the benefits while you’re away. If your holiday is sooner than that, don’t write it off completely—the best timing depends on your skin and the treatment you’re having.

For over 10 years, I’ve been fighting my grey hair. Yesterday, I decided to do the exact opposite.

Root touch-ups. Highlights. More root touch-ups. And that increasingly familiar moment of looking in the mirror and thinking… surely I only had it done two weeks ago?! 😂😂😂

I started going grey relatively young, and for years my only thought was how to cover it up.

Then yesterday, I did something completely different.

Instead of trying to hide the greys, I decided to blend them.

And I genuinely wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it.

Would it make me look older? Would I regret it? Would I immediately ask my colourist to change it back?

But here we are.

49 years old, and after years of fighting my grey hair, I think I might finally be ready to embrace it.

I spend a lot of my time talking about ageing well. About looking good, feeling good and still recognising the person you see in the mirror.

And maybe this is part of that too.

Realising that ageing well doesn’t have to mean fighting every sign of getting older. Sometimes, it’s simply about deciding which things matter to you… and which ones you’re finally ready to let go of.

Although, in the interests of full disclosure, I’m still having all my facial treatments 🤣

If your skincare needs its own suitcase, watch this✈️

Going on holiday doesn’t mean you need to pack your entire bathroom cabinet.

I keep my holiday skincare routine focused on the essentials — products that cleanse, protect and support my skin while I’m spending more time outdoors and being exposed to higher levels of UV.

My holiday skincare essentials?

🧴 A gentle cleanser that cleans the skin without stripping away moisture

🍊 An antioxidant serum, such as vitamin C, in the morning

✨ Then I go in with an anti-pigmentation serum to help prevent further pigmentation, which can become worse with increased UV exposure. Your targeted serum might be different depending on your main skin concern — whether that’s breakouts, redness or sensitivity.

☀️ A broad-spectrum sunscreen that you actually enjoy using every day (and will remember to reapply!)

🌙 At night, I double cleanse to properly remove sunscreen and makeup, then continue with my usual vitamin A product and moisturiser if my skin needs it.

The key is not taking more products but taking the right products for YOUR skin.

And if you’re not sure what your skin actually needs, that’s exactly why I always recommend starting with a proper skin consultation rather than guessing which products to buy.

Save this for when you’re packing for your summer holiday ✈️

And if you’d like help creating a skincare routine that’s tailored to your skin, you can book a skin consultation with me at my Billericay clinic via the link in my bio.
