When shopping for sunscreen, look for a mineral formula with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide as the only active ingredients. Then do a quick label check to make sure avobenzone and octocrylene are nowhere to be found. Those two chemical UV filters are the troublemakers behind unexpected extension color changes.

The good news? Mineral sunscreens are the chill friend in the group. They sit on top of your skin instead of being absorbed, so they’re much less likely (pretty much impossible) to transfer onto your extensions and start any colorful chaos.
