💋 Lip blush doing what it does best… restoring what time has taken away.

Over the years, it’s completely normal for natural lip pigment to fade, causing the lip border to become less defined and the lips to appear smaller or uneven.

For this lovely client, we restored lost colour and definition, creating a more balanced Cupid’s bow and bringing pigment back into the lower lip. The result? Lips that appear naturally fuller, fresher and more symmetrical — without adding any volume at all.

Healed Lip Blush Results ✨

These lips are now fully healed at 8 weeks following the initial appointment. 🤍

The first session is all about creating a beautiful foundation and seeing how your skin heals. At the touch-up appointment, I simply build on that healed result—adding a little more colour, refining any areas that have healed lighter, and perfecting the overall finish.

Permanent makeup is a process, not a one-appointment treatment. Results are created in delicate layers to achieve the most natural, long-lasting outcome possible.

✨ The secret to natural-looking PMU? Negative space.

One of the biggest mistakes in permanent makeup is trying to cram in too many hair strokes. Freshly done, it can look impressive… but as the skin heals and ages, those strokes naturally soften and expand slightly.

If there’s no room between them, they eventually blur together, creating that heavy, solid “tattooed brow” look.

In this photo, you can see how each stroke has been designed with plenty of breathing room. That negative space is just as important as the pigment itself because it allows each hair stroke to stay crisp and distinguishable as it heals.

Permanent makeup isn’t just about how it looks on the day of treatment. It’s about how it will look in 1, 3 and even 5 years’ time.

Permanent makeup is designed to heal softly. Around 30–50% of the pigment is expected to soften as your skin heals, which allows us to build beautiful, natural results in delicate layers.

Rather than overloading the skin with pigment in one appointment, I prefer to take a conservative approach and refine the shape, colour and density at your 6–8 week touch-up.

This layered approach creates the most natural long-term results and helps your brows age beautifully over time.

A good pre-draw considers:

Beautiful PMU is created in delicate layers. For most people, this means two sessions, allowing the pigment to heal naturally before we refine and perfect the final result. Occasionally, a third session may be needed, depending on your skin, lifestyle and desired outcome.

And that’s not where the journey ends.

Permanent makeup is designed to fade. In fact, that’s exactly what we want. If pigment stayed exactly as it was implanted, it would eventually become heavy, blurry and unnatural.

Just like having your nails, hair or lashes maintained, PMU benefits from regular upkeep too. This may include colour boosts and, occasionally, gentle laser lightening over the years to remove old pigment before adding fresh. This helps keep results crisp, soft and beautifully natural for the long term.

The goal has never been permanent brows or lips that stay the same forever.

One of the biggest surprises for my clients is just how soft and natural healed Lip Blush looks.

This is before the touch-up appointment, 8 weeks after the initial treatment. The colour has settled beautifully into the lip tissue, restoring definition and a healthy flush of colour without looking like permanent lipstick.

At this stage, we can assess how your individual skin has retained the pigment and make any small refinements needed to perfect the final result.
