Radiographer-led wellness clinic
Radiation-free bone health screening (REMS)
Ultrasound pain relief & skin rejuvenation
Root-cause health & inflammation support.
Your bone health assessment is about far more than a scan.
Every appointment begins with a conversation. We look at your nutrition, supplementation, exercise and lifestyle to build a complete picture of your bone health, not just a single result.
Your REMS assessment is then carried out using radiation free ultrasound. Unlike a DEXA scan, REMS measures both bone density and bone quality, giving us a deeper understanding of your bones and your fracture risk.
You’ll receive your results immediately, and together we’ll go through exactly what they mean.
We don’t just tell you whether you have osteoporosis or osteopenia. We explain the pattern behind your results.
For example, one recent client showed osteoporosis in the hard outer layer of the bone but only osteopenia in the inner trabecular bone. That gives us valuable information to help personalise recommendations for exercise, nutrition, supplementation and lifestyle.
Because the goal isn’t simply to diagnose poor bone health.
It’s to understand it early enough to do something about it.

Most people think vitamin D is just for healthy bones. It’s much more interesting than that.
Imagine your body is full of sockets. Vitamin D is like the plug that fits into them.
When the plug connects to the socket, it switches things on. That’s why vitamin D behaves more like a hormone than a traditional vitamin, helping your body send the messages it needs to keep everything working as it should.
The question is, do you have enough vitamin D to plug into those sockets?
At Ravenstone Wellness, our vitamin D finger prick blood test is £59, including your result and a personalised full lifestyle report with practical recommendations to help optimise your levels. DM to book.
Small test. Big insight.

This Father’s Day, here’s something many people don’t realise.
Osteoporosis doesn’t just affect women.
When Geoff was diagnosed with osteoporosis, he discovered he had already suffered three spinal fractures without knowing it.
Now approaching his 78th birthday, he wants more men to think about their bone health before a fracture happens.
We often remind the men in our lives to look after their heart health, check their blood pressure, stay active and eat well.
But how often do we talk about bone health?
Today’s a good reminder that strong bones matter too.
To all the dads, grandads, husbands, brothers and sons out there — look after yourselves. The people who love you want you around, active and independent for many years to come.
Thank you to the Royal Osteoporosis Society for sharing Geoff’s story.

She was doing all the right things. Or so she thought.
Yesterday I assessed a 58-year-old lady who is slim, active, strength trains, eats well and takes supplements.
On paper, she looked like someone who should have excellent results.
Her bone quality and bone strength were reassuring.
However, her bone density was quietly sitting in the osteopenic range.
What was even more interesting was her blood test.
It showed the signs of someone who eats a healthy diet and isn’t consuming lots of highly processed foods.
Yet despite supplementing with omega-3, her omega-3 levels were still very low.
A reminder that health isn’t just about what you put into your body.
It’s also about what your body can absorb, utilise and retain.
You can be doing many of the right things and still not be getting the full benefit.
That’s why I believe in testing rather than guessing.
Because the diagnosis isn’t always the first sign.
And neither is the fracture.

The fracture wasn’t the first sign.
Most people think osteoporosis starts with a fracture.
In reality, there are often clues years before a diagnosis or fracture occurs.
As a Diagnostic Radiographer with over 30 years’ experience, I’ve seen firsthand how important early insight can be.
That’s why I’m running a dedicated Bone Health Screening Day at Ravenstone Wellness.

Many people assume a fracture comes out of nowhere.
Often, there are clues long before the consequence.
The question is: would you have recognised the pattern?

Your hip replacement wasn’t the first sign.
For many people, changes in bone health begin years before a fracture, diagnosis or surgery. The challenge is that we often don’t feel those changes happening.
Strong hips aren’t built by chance. They are supported by regular strength training, good nutrition, protein, movement and understanding the pattern before problems occur.
Three simple places to start:
• Squats or sit-to-stands
• Step-ups
• Carrying weights or shopping bags
And don’t underestimate the power of everyday nutrition:
Oily fish
Leafy greens
Prunes
Dairy
Pumpkin seeds
Because healthy ageing isn’t just about bones. It’s about staying active, independent and able to enjoy the life you love.
The fracture wasn’t the first sign.

Bone loss does not happen overnight.
For many women, the changes begin quietly years before a diagnosis, fracture, or symptom appears.
Bone health is not just about ageing.
It is influenced by hormones, inflammation, nutrition, stress, sleep, recovery, muscle strength, and overall health.
The earlier we recognise the pattern, the more opportunity there is to take action.
This is exactly why I created The Bone Detectives Bone Health Quiz. A simple way to start understanding your potential risk factors before problems progress further.

Most women worry more about heart attacks, stroke, or breast cancer than they do about osteoporosis.
Yet fractures are happening silently, often years before people realise their bone strength has been changing.
This is why early insight matters.
Bone health is not just about ageing.
It is connected to hormones, inflammation, nutrition, sleep, movement, recovery, and overall long term health.
The earlier we recognise the pattern, the more opportunity we have to change the trajectory.
