👣 A gentle reminder water supports reflexology. and your wellbeing. Think of water as one of the simplest acts of self-care - it supports your body every single day.
Our bodies are made up of around 60% water, and every cell relies on it to function properly. Water helps transport nutrients, regulate body temperature, support digestion, and flush waste products from the body through the lymphatic system.
During a reflexology treatment, your body is encouraged to relax, rebalance, and support your body's natural healing processes. Staying well hydrated helps your body function at its best before, during and after your session.
It’s even easier to become dehydrated during the summer. Warmer weather means we lose more fluid through sweating, with longer hotter days, we're naturally more active so our water needs increase.
A few simple ways to stay hydrated:
Coconut water full of electrolytes great for hydration.
Sip water regularly throughout the day rather than waiting until you’re thirsty.
Enjoy water-rich refreshing foods like cucumber, watermelon, oranges, and strawberries.
Remember that tea and coffee don’t replace water, especially on hot days.
So next time your reflexologist reminds you to drink more water, you’ll know it’s because we want you to get the very best from your treatment 👣

Reflexology is believed to improve blood flow, reduce systemic stress, and lower blood pressure by easing tension in the autonomic nervous system. Clinical trials indicate that reflexology to the heart point may induce deep relaxation and temporary stress relief changes to cardiac function. Studies have concluded that reflexology is generally safe as a complementary, relaxing therapy for individuals with cardiovascular diseases, provided it does not replace standard medical care. Reflexologists often advise against heavy, intense stimulation directly on the heart reflex for individuals with chronic cardiovascular conditions. Instead, practitioners typically use very gentle, slow circular movements or focus on indirect helper zones—such as the adrenal gland reflex (to manage stress hormones) and the diaphragm reflex (to encourage deep breathing).
