HOW TO MEASURE YOUR FINGER OR THUMB USING A PIECE OF PAPER TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT SIZED SPLINT

The part of the finger or thumb that you need to measure will depend on the joint area where you would like the most support from the splint. Once you determine which joint on your finger or thumb requires the support, you will need to accurately measure the circumference of the joint requiring immobilisation. You can do this by carefully following the 6 easy to follow steps below, you will need a pen, paper, scissors, ruler or measuring device.

1. Cut the paper sizing guide out detailed in pictures in listing or cut out a strip of paper similar to the cut out in listing and wrap it around the joint area that needs to be measured.

3. Position the sizing guide or strip of paper around the joint at its widest point until it fits comfortably, making sure that it is not too tight that it would cause further pain or too slack that it feels like it would slip off.

4. Mark the piece of paper or paper sizing guide with a pen at the point it makes a complete circumference measurement of your joint.

5. Straighten out the strip of paper or paper sizing guide that you used to measure your joint and use a ruler or measuring device to identify the circumference measurement recorded.

6. Consult the splint size table in the next tab to identify your required splint size by looking for your measurement next to the corresponding splint size, then order the required splint in the drop-down menu in the listing.
