What if your back pain is not only about your back?

The pelvic floor forms the base of your core, working alongside your abdominal, back and breathing muscles to support movement, stability and control. When it is weak, tense or poorly coordinated, the effects may be felt beyond the pelvis, including through the hips and lower back.

This is why symptoms such as bladder leakage, pelvic discomfort or reduced control should not be viewed in isolation. Research shows a clear association between lumbopelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction, although this does not mean the pelvic floor causes every case of back pain. Published study

At Oxygen Room, the Althea Chair uses HI-FEMS technology to generate targeted pelvic floor muscle contractions while you remain fully clothed and comfortably seated. It offers a non-invasive way to support pelvic floor strength as part of a personalised approach to well-being.

Because not every pelvic floor needs strengthening, suitability matters, particularly if you experience pain or excessive tension.

Our Althea Pelvic Floor Chair helps you reconnect with muscles that can be difficult to feel and activate.

Just as the flower’s petals gently draw inwards and lift upwards, an effective pelvic floor contraction involves both closing and lifting. Visualisation can help you understand the movement, while targeted activation helps build strength and control.

The Althea Chair uses HI-FEMS technology, High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Stimulation, to generate up to 12,000 pelvic floor muscle contractions during one 28-minute session.

This non-invasive treatment takes place while you remain comfortably seated and fully clothed, and may support women experiencing bladder leakage, reduced pelvic floor strength, or changes associated with childbirth and menopause.

Most people see the performance.

They do not always see the system that supports it.

Sleep, nutrition, mobility, red light, soft tissue work, nervous system regulation, and recovery rituals are not random wellness habits. They are part of the environment that allows the body to adapt, reset, and perform again.

Training creates the demand.

Recovery creates the adaptation.

At Oxygen Room, we believe recovery should be treated with the same intention as training. Our expert-led modalities are designed to support energy, circulation, cellular function, resilience, and long-term well-being, all in one place.

Through Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Red Light + H₂, massage, testing, and personalised care plans, we help athletes, high-performers, and health-conscious individuals build a more structured approach to recovery.

You do not need to be elite to take recovery seriously.

You just need to stop treating it like an afterthought.

Oxygen + light. Two different modalities, one shared focus: cellular energy.
Your mitochondria are responsible for producing the energy your body uses to move, recover, think, adapt, and perform.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy supports oxygen availability, while Red Light Therapy supports light-sensitive pathways inside the mitochondria. Together, they offer a more integrated way to support recovery, resilience, performance, and long-term well-being.

This is why we believe recovery is no longer about one therapy in isolation. It is about understanding how different modalities can work together to support the body from more than one angle.
At Oxygen Room Bristol, our Red Light + H₂ and Hyperbaric Oxygen sessions are designed with this synergy in mind.

Recovery, energy, performance, well-being

The match is only the visible part of performance.

Behind every sprint, tackle, and goal is the part most people never see: recovery.

During World Cup season, the body is under constant demand. Training matters, but so does the ability to reset, repair, and be ready again.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is used by athletes as part of a wider recovery routine to support oxygen delivery, cellular function, and the body’s natural repair processes.

As Dr Sonners explains, when performance starts to dip, the answer is not always to push harder. Sometimes the body needs better recovery so it can adapt.

At Oxygen Room, our 2 ATA hard-shell chamber supports recovery, resilience, and performance from the inside out.

Train hard. Recover smarter. Perform longer.

Most athletes focus on training.

The best athletes focus on adaptation.

As prepares for the Novuna UK Athletics Championships Birmingham 2026, recovery is an important part of the process.

Every training session places a demand on the body. Adaptation happens afterwards, when the body responds, rebuilds, and prepares for the next challenge.

Alongside his training programme, Ben has been using Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Red Light Therapy, and Molecular Hydrogen to support his body’s natural recovery and performance.

Research suggests these therapies help support mitochondrial function, cellular energy production, oxygen utilisation, and the body’s response to the physical demands of training.

Most people only see the race.

They don’t see the early mornings. The consistency. The discipline.

The thousands of decisions made behind the scenes.

Performance isn’t built on race day.

It’s built in the months, weeks, and days beforehand.

We’re delighted to be a small part of Ben’s preparation and look forward to following his journey in Birmingham.

The work has been done.

Now it’s time to perform. 👏🏃‍♂️
