Message on behalf of David Ramsey of Courtyard Barbers to his many customers and friends.

Unfortunately Dave is out of action for the foreseeable week or two because of fast unexpected health problems.
Dave’s ok, he’s on the mend, but he’s in hospital and he needs some rest and recuperation.

He’ll be back when he’s fit and able to. So we’re reaching out to Dave’s customers to possibly not phone him for a few days to let him rest up.
(Probably text him if anything).

Wishing you all the best old pal for a speedy recovery and to return as a Bristol city supporter.
Love Jon and Andy xx

He’s back!!!…(Nearly).

The good news is that Jon is set to return to work on Monday 20th April after a month away recuperating in Barbados and the Maldives after his shoulder surgery.

The bad news is he’s been turned down for PIP payments and a Blue badge for his Nissan micra sportage (Electric version), after the DWP simultaneously caught him Limbo dancing and doing the Conga to Showaddywaddy’s greatest hits after necking 15 Pina Coloda’s.

Book him up quick. Before he goes AWOL again.
Welcome back old mate x

Update on Jon’s absence and whereabouts…contrary to rumours, my Barber wife of 28 years hasn’t retired, re joined the SAS, been recruited by a Turkish barbershop or emigrated to Pill…

After recently undergoing shoulder surgery Jon will be out of shop action for probably two months.

Good news is he’s mentally in fine form and physically doing incredibly well in his recuperation by lifting his massive wallet from arm to arm.

I’m going to miss him. Going to be tough without him. Who am I going to argue with constantly for 9 hours a day?
Now I know how George Michael felt when Andrew Ridgely left Wham!

Jon wishes to thank everyone who’ve asked me to send him him their best wishes with his recovery.

It’s probably a good idea to book me a good 2-3 weeks in advance.

Best luck with your recovery mate,
love Andy, Dave and Richard

Ho! Ho! Ho!
We’ve been fully booked for weeks now, but when Father Christmas rang us on Saturday to fit him in for his last head polish of the year before his big day, we couldn’t turn him down could we?

Wishing you all a fabulous Christmas and belting new year. Thank you so much for your continued loyalty, friendship and laughs.
Love to you all from Dave, Jon, Richard and the good looking, modest young fella.

(Thanks to our Father Christmas Colin for modelling for us and cracking me up)

I’m specialising in the procurement and styling of modern Haute Couture…
Jon is in charge of whacking on the old slap (Qualified plasterer is Jon👍🏽).

David Ramsay (MBE) is our Creative Director of hair, ladies’ beard trims and bikini waxing.

Our first customer was ecstatic with the result of her high end makeover, and says she’ll be back for a scrub up for her Christmas works party.
I think she looks absolutely bloody gorgeous.

Please phone for a consultation, but expect a minimum 4 week wait…

Beauty, Scotch Horn, Nailsea. January 17th-24th 2026.

A home visit today in Banwell for one of our most loyal customers.

Unfortunately the “Great Raymondo” isn’t able to get to us anymore, so it was an absolute pleasure to see our 91 year friend, who’s hair we’ve been ruining for at least 28 years or so (since 1997). I think it’s the transformation cut of the year.

They don’t make many fellas like this anymore. He’s truly one of the best. We love you Ray.

See you before Christmas Ray, and remember it’s only another 9 years before you get your free haircut for life at 100….Love Andy and Jon # # #

(Ps you might even get your leg over tonight with your fresh Barnet😉) # # #

We can now reveal we will be joining forces with our old friend and Nailsea hairdressing legend Dave Ramsay of the Couryard Barbers (Bristol Rovers branch), starting on Monday 24th March.

This is without doubt the greatest British business merger since Elizabeth Duke bought out Ratners…

Unfortunately we have to move on from our current home of over 20 years (where did those years go?!)

But fortunately for us, the timing was perfect as Dave wanted to add some “youth” to his team of himself and Rich to bring the new average age down to a more sprightly 86…

As mere youngsters of 50 and 52 (I know, Jon had 4 very difficult paper rounds), we hope to keep the shop going for many years to come.

Dave has welcomed us immediately, wholeheartedly and very generously to his shop of 27 years. Thank you Dave.

Dave has been hairdressing over 50 years, and has been working in Nailsea since 1979. The poor sod.

As with the current trend for the influx of Turkish, Kurdish and Albanian shops in every village, town and city in the UK, we did wrestle with jumping on this bandwagon…

We nearly settled on identifying as Ali, Burak, Mehmet and Couscous of Wishy Washy Barbers and Launderers Plc. But as we’re all skint and have no dodgy money to clean, we will be called Courtyard with Nailsea Barbers.

The same booking system applies, same friendship, banter and shoddy service, just a change of location and more of us.

Thank you all so much and hope to see you all again soon.

Stay Happy!
Andy and Jon
