It can make you feel superhuman, but it can also be pretty stressful. How are you supposed to keep up with all of the products out there? How do you know which ‘experts’ you can trust, or who is just trying to get a sale? That’s where Makeup Doctor comes in. If you’re looking for a makeup artist, sales person or beauty magician, that’s not me. But if you want a personalised one to one makeup coaching service, Makeup Doctor is for you. Through my coaching you will learn:
• How to have your makeup work for you
• Which of your products work and which don’t
• How to refresh your makeup habits
• To enhance your natural features through the application process
• How to apply your makeup for the most beautiful you everyday
I am a makeup expert. Impartial. Unaffiliated. And I will get the best out of your makeup. Guaranteed. Makeup and beauty is a powerful thing. It can take away your insecurities and replace them with pure confidence. You wish your make-up and beauty products did that, but they don’t. Why? Because of all of the adverts, average advice and pressure you are hit with on a daily basis. I’ve trained hundreds and hundreds of people in the industry. From make-up artists to beauty beginners. And you don’t coach that many without learning what works. I know you love make-up. It’s why you’re here. But you’re ready to level up and to master your makeup bag. Pretend for a moment you were taught how to wear your makeup from the very beginning. Instead of watching mum put on her powder, lipstick and mascara a thousand times; copying the faces she pulled and the brushes she used; you really learnt what to do with it. You learnt what was right for you and your face. Throw away the old habits, unopened products, and worn out lipsticks and learn from someone who will put your needs first. It’s time to have your makeup bag work for you. Are you ready?
WHY YOUR MOISTURISER MAY NOT BE DOING WHAT YOU THINK 💭
It’s not you it’s your moisturiser…
Some people need hydration and more moisture, some need to retain moisture because it keeps escaping and some need surface cells smoothing. Everyone has a unique requirement which is why the moisturiser/lotion/ cream may not be doing any of what you need…..
Each of you are unique and have some have different requirements throughout the year, if it was that easy to give out recommendations id just have a list I’d send you but sadly I need to know more to help and that’s why my clients choose to work with me.
Don’t let your skin down to be left unsupported let’s work on a plan, and bonus… we also sort your entire makeup bag at the same time 😉 as this products will affect your skin too.
Excuse the grotty sheet of paper but I think it did a great job of showing you how some moisturisers don’t pe*****te and act more like a film.
Every city I go to I have to do a little makeup shopping and 🕵️ …
And beautiful Venice was no exception….
The stores were not just stores they were art 🤩 The store did not disappoint, the bags alone were individual pieces of art not to mention the lovely makeup range. I love a unique red and this one quickly became my fave 💋
It’s Matt but not ‘dry’ the colour isn’t to warm or too cold, it actually lasts pretty well and it didn’t feel like I had lipstick on something that I’m a bit conscious of with a red lipstick if you know what I mean.
Dolce for the red 💄 I’ll have to get my 🤓 on to see what the shade is though 😉
I woke up and it turned wavy?! Who can relate?!!
For all the years I’ve had this head of hair it’s always been straight, not poker straight but fairly straight and one day I woke up and p**f it’s wavy 🤷🏽♀️
I’m sure a hair expert would be able to tell me what’s going on….
I can’t say much about hair but this is a common one with my clients with skin, one day they will just notice it’s behaving differently and they can’t work out what changed, why, or how to get it back to its usual self…
It can be for a number of reasons:
• we may never have actually improved skin or give it what it needs from the skincare you’re using
• your skincare could be working against what is happening with your skin
• your skin may be altering due to hormonal shifts
• your skin could be reacting to something environmental or topical
The list goes on…
Don’t just guess, get the right answers with me and let’s change it, it’s usually all explainable…just the world of skincare and beauty just wants you to keep buying products 🤪
Ps Any hair experts out there 👀🙋🏽♀️

IF I WANTED YOU TO BE STUCK WITH YOUR SKIN WITH ZERO IMPROVEMENT THIS IS WHAT I WOULD SUGGEST!
I know I said what I said 💭 & 🙏🏼 to your skin 🤪
But hear me out….
•You have no idea what your skin needs until you actually strip back the products
•listening to people who don’t have experience working with skin or a deeper understanding isn’t going to give us answers, no matter how many people liked it.
•your skin is always telling you, it’s smarter than you think and I honestly believe the over complication of products has led to skincare feeling like a minefield. It’s much simpler than you think and skin is smarter than the products tell you it is.
•skin treatments may be required at times but messing with something you don’t actually understand gives you more problems later down the line (approach with caution)
•it’s not just skincare that affects skin makeup does too, it’s all about working out what’s right for YOU & your SKINS needs!
Nope, I don’t have the same outlook on makeup and skincare to most, but what I do with my clients works not because I’m trying to sell you yet another product but because I help you understand what’s happening and fix that.
Ready to get off the hamster wheel?!
Join the rest of my clients who already have and won’t look back 💡 Skincare is not a trend 🤪 but we do cover it in your makeup coaching….
The things I see 👀🤪
The beauty industry has always had strict rules around hygiene, I kind of understand that the customer may not always realise this but the hygiene rules are there to keep you safe.
I always recommend testing products, but I’ve seen way too many things that would keep me well away from testing most things on my own face in store….
This mascara story though was wild 🤪🤣:
The customer just casually using the tester on her lashes. The assistant just standing there letting her and not even encouraging a hygiene wand 😮 blew my mind.
Now imagine this lady having had mites or conjunctivitis… you see the problem 👀
And the next assistant may well use a hygiene wand with the next customer but would be completely oblivious that the product was already contaminated.
It only takes that one time….
So test, but test safely…. Ask a brand representative and they should be able to help.
Check things have been cleaned with cleaner or alcohol spray.
Use the hygiene wands provided.
Self select areas are the worst (avoid)
Use your hand to test colours.
And seriously it’s 2026! The recession proof business of beauty should get this by now if your staff don’t understand the basics it’s time to spend a little more on training.
I won’t go on with more stories, or maybe I should in part 2?!🤔🤣
WHEN YOU WANY SKIN TO HAVE THAT ✨
I’ve been talking about glowy makeup today and so as I had a few liquid highlighters out I thought I’d show you the difference…
BUT MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW with a liquid highlighter:
• the amount of oil it contains can completely make or break your makeup, too much oil = movement/ makeup breaking up
• application is EVERYTHING light application with something like the classic foundation brush lightly loaded will enable a thin layer instead of breaking up all your makeup
• choose your shade wisely, you don’t want a golden or pink shade that looks obvious you shouldn’t really see the colour of the product once it’s on the skin… for example the high beam great on fair to lighter skin tones, the iconic in original more fair to mid and the sleek deeper tones
What’s the oldest product you own??
Step into my ‘archives’ and see what mine is….
I recon it’s Circa 2000 ish 🤔
No I don’t condone keeping old products if they have passed their sell by but this one was a little bit different 🤪
What were you too attached to throw away? I’m dying to know….
I DO THIS IN EVERY PLACE I VISIT AROUND THE 🌎
I can promise you Italians have a different complexion to us but it’s no surprise to discover this!!
This is the power of influencer marketing and social media 😮 I’m not surprised really but it does make me a little sad. It feels to me like we just want a one face fits all cookie cutter model for makeup 🤷🏽♀️
Let’s start choosing products because they suit/work for us not because it’s trending or hyped up.
Trending doesn’t = right
Foundation doesn’t need to go here!
It’s like painting the house right?
You start with one skirting board and then you’re doing the arcs, door and walls and off into other rooms…. I get it but if you have the right shade of foundation we don’t need to put it over the other areas to make them match 💭
Not to mention all the clothes we end up with endless foundation marks on 🤪
Struggling with concealer coverage?
It may not be your concealer it may be your method.
The most common thing I see in sessions is rubbing concealer which almost ‘breaks it up’
Think about it like this - when you butter toast you move the knife gently over the bread to get an even distribution, press too firmly and you’ll break through the butter or worse the bread….
We don’t want to break through the concealer we just want a ‘thin layer’ onto skin.
PATTING with get you that result:
•better coverage
•easier to layer
•doesn’t crease the same
•coast feel ‘heavy’
Give it a try (obviously the concealer being the right shade and the right type for you will help even further but this should be a great start.
